Indian Women Wearing Sarees Ride Superbikes On Gudi Padwa: Video Goes Viral

The biking culture in India has changed over the years. From commuter bikes to superbikes, we have come a long way. There are several options available for riders in the market and along with that they riding culture has also changed. Earlier we used to see men riding bikes and going out on bike trips. Things are however slowly changing and we now have women with love and passion for bikes coming forward too. Here we have one such video where Indian women wearing saree are seen posing with superbikes for a rally on Gudi Padwa occasion.
The video has been shared by Steven Injeti on his Instagram page. The video was shot as part of Gudi Padwa celebration. Gudhi Padwa is a spring festival marking the start of the lunisolar new year for Marathi and Konkani Hindus. It is celebrated in and around Maharashtra, Goa and Daman at the start of Chaitra, the first month of the lunisolar Hindu calendar. The video seen here is probably from Maharashtra.
The video starts by showing several expensive super and sports bikes lined up on the road for a rally. What makes this rally special is the riders. Many of the riders on these superbikes were actually wearing woman and all of them were wearing Indian attire.
We first see a girl revving the engine of a Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. She is sitting on the bike while wearing the Indian attire. She pushes the accelerator couple of times and the twin exhaust system produces a loud note.
After this we see another video where another woman rider is seen on a Kawasaki Ninja H2 superbike. It is an extremely aggressive looking superbike or hypersport motorcycle. The woman on the bike is once again seen wearing a saree. She also revs the engine couple of times to attract attention or for the sake of video.
The third clip shows another girl showing how difficult it is for them to get on a bike while wearing saree. The bikes on which she was sitting was once again a Kawasaki Ninja superbike. They all seemed excited and happy as we feel most of them were sitting on a bike while wearing a traditional Indian attire for the first time.
There were many women in the rally who were on motorcycles. Some of them were riding bikes like Royal Enfield Classic 350 too. The comment section under the video is praising women and there are others who have pointed out the fact that none of them are wearing a riding helmet and some of these bikes have extremely loud exhausts which might be illegal.
In this video, we do not see any of them riding the motorcycles. They are simply sitting on the bikes and posing for pictures and videos. We really hope that they would wear a helmet when they ride these machines.
Wearing a helmet is an absolute must while riding motorcycle especially while riding powerful machines like H2 and other superbikes. A helmet would save the rider from any kind of head injury. We have seen several videos in the past where women in Saree are seen riding bikes on Indian roads.
