A lot of drivers in India have a bad habit of driving on the wrong side of the road. This is done by them to avoid going to the correct divider, where they can make a legal U-turn. A lot of times, due to these people, other drivers get involved in accidents or have to face inconvenience. Recently, a video of one such Ola Electric scooter rider causing inconvenience to others on the road has been shared online. This particular rider stood on the road in front of a car with a dashcam and said he had a lot of time. Thankfully, this person was quickly caught after the incident and was slapped with a fine.

Ola scooter rider blocks the road after coming from the wrong side

The video of this Ola Electric scooter rider blocking the way of a car after riding on the wrong side has been shared on X by Indian Cam BLR on their page. In this short video, we can note a car with a dashcam being driven on a busy road. It then crosses an intersection, and suddenly, a red Ola Electric S1 Pro scooter rider and a pillion without a helmet come from the wrong side.

According to the post, this incident took place on Magadi Road in Bangalore. From the clip, we can note that this particular EV scooter rider was riding on the extreme right side of the left lane on which the car was driven. He then came and stopped in front of the car. It can then be noted that instead of moving away or backing off, he remained standing there.

This particular scooter rider was gesturing that he had a lot of time and could stand there. As per the owner of the car, he even said that he could do whatever he wanted, but he wouldn’t move. In the same clip, we can note that this Ola Electric scooter rider was even giggling, and many people saw him standing there unnecessarily.

The dashcam footage also showed that, due to this rider blocking the road, a long queue of vehicles was forming behind the car. In total, all the clips together show that the scooter rider and the car driver were standing at the same spot for over 4-5 minutes. However, the exact time for which the road was blocked is unknown.

As soon as this video became viral on the internet, the police authorities started their investigation. Thankfully, due to the registration number of this scooter being clearly visible in the video, the authorities were able to track down the owner. An image has been shared online, which shows that this particular scooter rider was caught by the Kamakshipalya Traffic Police. A long traffic fine was handed over to this offender.

A number of netizens have appreciated the quick action taken by the Bangalore traffic police. They highlighted that such quick actions create fear among offenders. They added that, apart from handing over a fine, the driving license of this scooter rider should be suspended so that a stricter precedent can be set for society.
