Remember a video we featured a few months ago where Indian grandmas went for a spin in a Lamborghini? Well, it looks like they’re not done yet! They’ve now suggested a new supercar to their grandchild. This time, it’s a car from a brand that hardly anyone from their generation is familiar with — a McLaren. The best part? Their grandchild actually bought one. A video of these grandmas has once again gone viral on the internet. He is not just the third India but also the youngest Indian to own a McLaren 765 LT supercar.

The video was shared by Anand on his Instagram page. It begins by revisiting the earlier clip where the grandmas enjoyed a ride in a Lamborghini Huracán and Urus. Afterward, another grandmother on the internet commented, suggesting that they could have opted for a Porsche instead of a Lamborghini.

To this, one of the grandmas replied that Porsches have become too common these days. The other grandma added that Porsches don’t have doors that go up and insisted that her grandchild should buy a McLaren instead. The grandson seemed surprised (or at least acted surprised in the video). He confirmed the car’s name, and the next thing we see is the family taking delivery of a McLaren 765LT supercar.

McLaren officially entered the Indian market recently, and there are only a few McLaren owners in the country. Many of them register their cars in Dubai, and this McLaren is no exception. It seems the owner is based in Dubai, as his Lamborghinis are also registered there. The McLaren 765LT is one of the most expensive supercars from the British manufacturer, costing over ₹12 crore in India.

In Dubai, it might be slightly cheaper, but it’s still far from affordable. The video shows family and friends gathered around the car as the Instagrammer takes delivery. A dealership staff member mentions that the owner is the third Indian to own a McLaren 765LT and the first person from Kerala to purchase one. The owner might even plan to bring this car to India via a Carnet. Many enthusiasts have used this method in the past to drive exotic cars on Indian roads without paying the hefty taxes.

Grandma suggests McLaren

As mentioned earlier, this owner is only the third Indian to own this supercar. The McLaren 765LT is a limited-edition vehicle, with production capped at just 765 units, making it an incredibly rare car.

The only 765LT in India with a proper Indian registration number belongs to businessman Naseer Khan from Hyderabad. The second 765LT is owned by Bengaluru-based entrepreneur Ranjit Sundermurthy (commonly known as RSM), who brought his car from Dubai to India. The third 765LT is the one featured in this video.

The McLaren 765LT is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that produces 765 PS and 800 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed sequential gearbox, sending power to the rear wheels.

In terms of design, the spider version maintains the same aerodynamics as the coupe. Its bodywork features extensive use of carbon fiber and includes a more aggressive front bumper, splitter, side skirts, and a wraparound rear bumper. Being a convertible, its roof folds in just 11 seconds.
