YouTuber Builds 30 Foot Maruti 800 Limousine (Video)

The limo culture never made it to the Indian shores successfully. However, this did not stop people from making custom limousines based on cars and SUVs that were already on sale here. Over the years, we have seen people building limos out of Scorpios, Ford Endeavours and even Volkswagen Jettas. Recently YouTuber Dilraj Singh Rawat attempted something extremely insane. He built a Maruti 800-based limousine with two engines, two driver setups and a massive 30 ft length! All details of the build and the creation process have been shared on the YouTube channel Mr Indian Hacker.
A recent Instagram reel shows the vehicle being driven on what looks like a public road. The video was captured by two people on a motorcycle who were following it. A guy can be seen sticking the upper half of his body out of the sunroof. The limo has two steering/ driving areas ( we’ll talk about this further down in this article). As the motorcyclists moved forward, the YouTuber ( who was driving the car) rolled down his windows and greeted them.
The YouTuber calls this car a ‘Gaming limousine’. That’s because a proper gaming station has been set up on the inside with a large screen, consoles and tasteful ambient lighting. Many things about this build might not impress you. But the interior definitely will. After all, that’s what matters in a limo!
The creation process of this vehicle has been documented and shared on Rawat’s YouTube channel, in two parts. The first part explains what the goal is and how he plans to start the project. He’s acquired two maruti 800 hatchbacks for the project. The ‘idea’ is to cut these cars in half and use the front portions of both vehicles on the final form. Stick the front ends together and extend the same into a limo!
Upon completion, the vehicle would be 30 feet long! We have seen such builds abroad, but this could be the first of its kind in India. The upside of using the front ends is that it would generate ample living room inside the cabin. The rear seat of the Maruti 800 is slightly raised, and the same limits headroom.
After cutting the vehicles, the two (front) ends are joined together using a custom-fabricated frame. The length of the frame alone is 22-23 ft. It should be noted that the engines, driver seats and live and steering axles are kept intact. The final vehicle would thus have two engines, two driver seats, and two steering wheels. It could even take two drivers to drive the same as well.
In the second video, Rawat and his team fabricate custom metal sheets for making the vehicle’s bodywork. They lift the vehicle using jacks and then do the reinforcement works and sheet metal installation. The shell that they make cannot be called the strongest or the safest but seems to suffice for a custom handmade vehicle.
The good part about the sheet metal work is that the team has taken care to match its design with the lines and creases on the donor vehicles. Plywood has been used for flooring and there is even an electric sunroof as well.
After completing the bodywork, the vehicle is cleaned thoroughly, especially the cabin. Plush-looking Rexin upholstery and materials have been used inside. The vehicle even gets fitted with a sofa and a large TV.
The stock trims and door pads of the donor cars are also replaced with more premium ones. The extension’s window area is donned with a 5mm acrylic sheet, which has further been blacked out. These cannot be opened. It is just the donor cars’ windows that can be rolled down or up.
A lot of questions remain, like how does this drive and how is it steered etc. We expect to have answers to these in the YouTuber’s upcoming videos.
