Cricketer Yusuf Pathan Adds A Rebuilt Willys Jeep To His Collection

Like many famous cricketers, Yusuf Pathan has a respectable collection of cars and SUVs. Recently, he purchased a rebuilt Willys Jeep from a dealer in Mandi Dabwali, Haryana. Kulwinder Motors is famous for rebuilding and restoring Willys Jeeps and has delivered vehicles to many celebrities and public figures in the past. A video shared on the channel Dayakaran Vlogs shows the cricketer’s new acquisition in detail.
It starts with the host giving an introduction to Kulwinder Motors and its celebrity clientele. Yusuf Pathan, who is also a Member of the Lok Sabha, lives in Gujarat’s Baroda. After being built at the workshop in Haryana, the Jeep was delivered to his home in Baroda. In the video, we can even see pictures from the delivery day.
Kulwinder Motors builds vehicles against orders. The cricketer chose exactly what accessories and parts he wanted on his vehicle. He chose the colour and tyres as well. Later in the video, we get to see the Willys in detail. The off-roader is finished in a shade of dark green. The semi-matte colour scheme resembles that of old military vehicles.
In the video, we can see a few other SUVs built by the garage. Some of them have been fitted with fat tyres. The cricketer’s Willys, however, has normal tyres. The headlamps are now LED units, and get Daytime Running Lamps as well. The front bumper also has fog lamps.
This Jeep has been fitted with accessories such as a shovel, a tow hook, lamps, and more. The bonnet gets the original shape and come with pull-type locks. The garage has given insulation inside the engine bay.
This rebuilt Jeep houses a Mahindra Bolero-sourced engine under its hood. It has, however, been overhauled completely. The wings, pistons, crank, and pump have all been reworked. Components like the alternator are all-new.
The garage even offers a warranty on the powertrain. The video also mentions that the engine used in this vehicle has a displacement of over 2400 cc. This means that the build may have borrowed its powertrain from the old Bolero, which featured a 2498cc engine. The gearbox used here is a six-speed unit.
It has a 4x2 layout. In the past, the garage used to build 4x4 variants as well. For the last few years, however, they have stuck to building just 4x2 models alone.
The cabin has been completely rebuilt. The vehicle gets new, comfortable, low back bucket seats. The stock steering wheel has been replaced with a new grippy unit. It now gets an electric power steering setup. To make the ingress and egress easy, the vehicle has a side step as well. The off-roader also gets a new instrument cluster with classy bezels. The garage has even given it ambient lighting and storage spaces.
The front windshield can be folded down, and the soft-top roof can be retracted. The rear gets a comfortable seat as well. The rear bumper has been fitted with a tow hook, which the garage says, will be of use to Pathan while using the Jeep on his farm.
The video also shows a number of other builds from the garage. A couple of modified Mahindra Thars can be seen, with oversized wheels. Another example of a rebuilt Willys can also be seen, which mimics the design of the original military vehicle and has even been accessorised well.
This vehicle also has the classic Willys steering wheel and seats wearing Tan upholstery. Before the video ends, the garage also reveals that an average Willys build has an asking price of Rs 5-6 lakh. This can vary with the exact specifications chosen by the customer.
