Have you ever come across the name Yusuf Shariff? If you’re from Bengaluru, you might know him better as Gujari Babu or KGF Babu. He is a well-known businessman and politician from Karnataka, having started his scrap business in Kolar. Over time, he acquired profitable properties and machinery from government auctions, building his fortune. If you’re still unfamiliar, he’s the same person who bought actor Amitabh Bachchan’s Rolls-Royce Phantom. We now have a collection of images showcasing Mr. Shariff’s impressive car collection.

The video was shared by BTV News on their YouTube channel and was recorded during Mr. Shariff’s son’s wedding. It displays a range of luxury and exotic cars, including the Rolls-Royce Phantom once owned by Amitabh Bachchan. Among the vehicles in the video are models like the BMW 5-Series, Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi A4, Toyota Vellfire, Bentley Mulsanne, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Audi R8, to name a few.

Most of these cars are owned by Mr. Shariff and his family, but the star of the collection is, of course, the Rolls-Royce Phantom. This Phantom made headlines when Bachchan sold it to Umrah Developers, a firm owned by Yusuf Shariff. The car was initially a gift to Mr. Bachchan from director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, as a token of appreciation after the actor completed the movie Eklavya.

After purchasing the car, Mr. Shariff used it in Bengaluru. During a routine inspection, the car was stopped, and the driver presented forged documents. When officers discovered the documents were fake, they seized the car, which also lacked valid insurance and a pollution certificate.

The car was eventually released after Mr. Shariff paid a fine of Rs 5,500. Mr. Bachchan had received the Rolls-Royce Phantom in 2007 when it was priced around Rs 3.5 crore. Depending on customizations, the price could have been even higher.

Today, the Rolls-Royce Phantom starts at Rs 8.99 crore, with the price going up to Rs 10.48 crore (ex-showroom), and customizations can increase the cost further. The Rolls Royce Phantom seen here in the video and images is powered by a 6.7 litres, V12 petrol engine that generates a maximum of 453 Ps and 722 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission and the power is sent to rear wheels.

Returning to Mr. Yusuf Shariff, he is not only a successful businessman but also an active politician. Like many Indian politicians, he has eight criminal cases against him, some of which remain under investigation.

According to available reports, Mr. Shariff has limited formal education, having completed up to the 5th standard, but his car collection is undoubtedly impressive.

It is unclear if Mr. Shariff bought all these cars new or if he opted for used models, as he did with the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Purchasing a pre-owned luxury or supercar can be a smart choice, allowing him to save significantly compared to buying new. These cars depreciate pretty fast and that is why buying used one in more sensible. We have seen many celebrities like Shilpa Shetty buy used expensive and exotic cars in the past.
