Billionaire Zerodha Brothers Nithin And Nikhil Kamath Gift Mum A Mercedes Benz GLS SUV
Zerodha is an Indian brokerage and financial services company based in Bengaluru. It deals in stocks, derivatives and more. It is now a highly popular trading platform among Indians. Its founders Nithin and Nikhil Kamath recently surprised their mom by gifting her a Mercedes Benz GLS SUV on her birthday. Revathi Kamath, mom to the two billionaires was overwhelmed and took the news to social media.
She shared a gladsome note on Facebook, saying 'My sons today gifted me new car today and here also I received car keys this way and one more Peta and shalu !!!'. A picture accompanying the note shows her receiving the car keys after being welcomed with an expensive ethnic ceremonial shawl (shalu), a traditional turban (peta) and a bouquet. This Indian mom seems to have had a very happy birthday indeed!
The facebook post has been witnessing immense traction and we see users showering congratulatory comments. “Great day. Many congratultions madam. Wish many more like this. You have to celebrate the massive success of your sons in their profession”- said one.
“Huge congratulations! Your sons are so thoughtful! Wishing you many happy miles in your new set of wheels!” commented another. 'Well deserved madam . Congratulations' - noted a third while another said 'Every sons dream!! Congratulations on your new ride.'

A Closer Look At The Mercedes GLS SUV
The GLS is the German manufacturer's SUV flagship and is often called 'the S-Class of SUVs'. Mercedes Benz sells two versions of the GLS here- 450 (petrol) and 450d (diesel). The petrol iteration has an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.33 Crores while the diesel sells for 1.39 Crores (ex-showroom). The facelifted GLS was launched in India last year.
It is a 3-row full-size SUV and comes with minor design reworks over the predecessor. It gets a new four-slat grille, a new DRL design, a new block pattern signature on tail lamps and fresh-looking bumpers. It rides on 21-inch alloy wheels and offers five colour options- Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Sodalite Blue, Selenite Grey and Polar White.
The new GLS offers the choice of three interior colourways- black, beige and brown. It features a new steering wheel with haptic buttons, the latest MBUX system, 360-degree camera, ADAS, and off-road screens.
Talking of powertrains, the diesel gets a 3.0L six-cylinder turbocharged engine which makes 367 hp and 700 Nm. The petrol is powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder unit that has 381hp and 500Nm on offer. Both powertrains get the EQ Boost mild hybrid system that offers an additional 20hp and 200 Nm of torque. We are not sure if it is the petrol or diesel form that Revathi Kamath was gifted with.
The transmission on offer is a 9-speed automatic unit and there is all wheel drive (AWD) as well. The GLS claims a water wading depth of 500 mm.
