Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Buys Another Aston Martin – India’s First New Vantage

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has added another expensive member to his garage- the all-new Aston Martin Vantage. This is the second Aston Martin in Goyal’s garage and was recently spotted at a parking in Gurgaon. The pictures of it were shared on the Instagram page ‘Automobili Ardent’.
Finished in Black, this is India’s first new Vantage that we’ve seen being bought. Aston Martin launched the new Vantage in August this year, with prices starting from 3.99 crores, ex-showroom. The deliveries began in the fourth quarter. The updated Vantage comes with revised styling, a tweaked cabin and an improved Mercedes-sourced powertrain. This is Goyal’s second Aston Martin, as in March this year, he bought a DB12 GT.
The new generation of Aston Martin’s two-door coupe gets a larger grille that almost eats into the entirety of the front bumper, vertical air curtains, revised bonnet, high-performance LED headlamps, improved fender air ducts, revised rear bumper, rear diffuser, and massive 21-inch alloy wheels wearing Satin Silver offered as standard.
The cabin sees notable improvements. Gets a new interior trim. The cockpit layout now moves away from the previous Mercedes-inspired form to a more bespoke, ‘into ya face’ design. Maybe there is a slight influence of Porsche designs inside- you decide! The new Vantage comes packed with features.
It gets the likes of a new 10.25-inch infotainment screen ( that’s also found on the DB12) with a new UI, wireless smartphone connectivity, 3D live mapping, Bowers and Wilkins sourced 15-speaker audio system, a new steering wheel, physical toggles for most controls, automatic climate control, and powered seats. The switchgear has been revised and there is a new digital instrument cluster and steering wheel design as well.
The biggest update is, however, under the skin. The new Vantage draws its juice from a Mercedes-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that has been modified to develop an additional 153 bhp and 115 Nm over the outgoing Vantage V8. The net output here is 656 bhp and 800 Nm. 0-100 kph sprint needs just 3.5 seconds and the top speed stands at over 325 kph.
The new car is a significant improvement over its predecessor in terms of performance and abilities. The previous Vantage V12 had an output of 690 bhp and 753 Nm and could do a top speed of 322 kmph. Taking off four cylinders and settling down for a turbocharged V8 has only upped the game for Aston Martin.
The suspension and brakes have also been revised on the new model. The vehicle now offers more agility and control. The brakes are powerful and offer ample stopping power. Steel disc brakes are offered as standard, while Carbon Ceramic brakes come optional. It is not clear if the Zomato C-suit has opted for the Carbons or not.
The manufacturer is also offering an expansive colour palette and a range of personalisation opportunities for the new Vantage, especially from its bespoke Q decision. The stuff offered includes beefier alloy wheels, lightweight Carbon fibre seats, carbon ceramic disc brakes and more.
Deepinder Goyal bought his Aston Martin DB12 Gran Tourer in Satin Aston Martin Racing Green colourway. It was also the country’s first DB12 to be delivered. Riding on 21-inch wheels, this GT gets the same Mercedes-Benz-sourced engine twin-turbo V8 in a different state of tune, whereby it produces 680 PS and 800 Nm. The transmission offered is an eight-speed dual-clutch unit. 0-100 kph comes in the same 3.5 seconds as the Vantage. The supercar is also kitted with an electronic rear differential and adaptive dampers for more agility and control.
