Maruti Suzuki has been dominating the Indian automotive space for decades. It even had around 50% share in the domestic passenger vehicle market. Recently, however, the shifting consumer preferences and more fierce competition have made this slide. With automakers like Tata Motors and Hyundai fighting hard, the Maruti Suzuki’s dominance is gone. The carmaker plans to fight back and regain its market share in the coming years and has aggressive product plans for the same. Here are 10 Maruti Suzuki vehicles that are to be expected.

eVitara

Maruti Suzuki eVitara Electric SUV

The eVitara is Maruti Suzuki’s first EV offering for the Indian market. It was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 and got high public interest. It will likely be launched in India by March.

Underpinned by the HEARTECT-e platform, the EV will offer two battery pack choices- 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Both batteries are sourced from BYD and the 61 kWh unit is claimed to offer a range of over 500 km per charge. India will get just the single-motor version, while a dual-motor setup is available in many global markets. The 49 kWh version offers 144 bhp and 189 Nm while the larger battery pack has 174 bhp on tap.

The EV also gets a distinctive design and is essentially the production form of the eVX concept. The manufacturer has also kitted this electric SUV well. It has a lot of features including Level 2 ADAS.

Grand Vitara 7 Seater

Maruti Suzuki is also working on a 7-seater version of the Grand Vitara SUV. Currently being tested as the Y17 SUV, it is expected to have tail lamps that look like those on the eVitara. It will also have LED DRLs, new bumpers and a split headlamp setup.

It will be longer than the 5-seater version, to accommodate the third row. The wheelbase and width will likely remain the same as the outgoing Grand Vitara.

Features like a fully digital instrument cluster, a large floating-type touchscreen infotainment screen, Level 2 ADAS, seat ventilation, electrically adjustable seats, split seats for second- and third-row passengers, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a dual-tone cabin, cruise control, and a multifunction steering wheel are to be expected.

The 7-seater version will likely retain the engine and transmission options of the outgoing Grand Vitara. It will thus have the familiar 1.5-litre K15C series petrol engine and the 3cylinder 1.5 hybrid petrol engine. There could even be a CNG version as well.

Fronx Series Hybrid

Maruti Suzuki Fronx Series Hybrid

The Fronx is a strong seller for Maruti Suzuki in India. The carmaker is already working on a facelift for it. The new vehicle will have minor styling tweaks and a new series hybrid powertrain. Unlike conventional hybrids, a series hybrid setup uses the petrol engine as just a generator for charging the battery pack that powers the electric motors, which further drive the wheels. Series hybrid systems are much more efficient than traditional hybrid setups.

Dzire Series Hybrid

It was recently that Maruti Suzuki launched the fourth generation Dzire sedan in India. The vehicle is expected to get the new Series hybrid powertrain in the upcoming years. At present, the compact sedan's powertrain is the 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder petrol unit which makes 80 bhp and 111 Nm.

Swift Series Hybrid

The Swift will also get the series hybrid powertrain. The new powertrain is expected to boost the hatchback's appeal further. Now, it is powered by the same 1.2-litre Z12E three-cylinder petrol as the Dzire.

New Electric MPV

The second electric vehicle from Maruti Suzuki will be an electric MPV. It will be based on the same platform as the eVX. The upcoming vehicle will take slight inspiration from the Ertiga. The project is currently codenamed YMC. Details are sparse at the moment. We expect the production form to have a Toyota counterpart as well. It could launch in 2026.

Electric Budget Hatchback (eWX)

Another model to be expected is a budget electric hatchback- the production form of eWX concept that was previously showcased at the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS). A patent for this vehicle has already been filed in India. The EV will reportedly have a length, width and height of 3,395 mm, 1,475 mm, and 1,620 mm respectively. With a Kei car like design and a powertrain that could deliver a range close to 230 km per charge, it could come with an interesting proposition. More details are yet to surface.

Baleno Strong Hybrid

Maruti Baleno Hybrid

The series hybrid (Range extender) powertrain will also be introduced on the Baleno hatchback. The setup will use the same Z12E petrol engine as the new Swift. It is expected to deliver impressive range figures.

2 Sub-Compact SUVs

Suzuki Spacia

The Japanese carmaker's Indian vertical also has plans of launching two sub-compact SUVs in the upcoming time. These are expected to launch by 2027. One of these is internally called YDB and could be priced in the same bracket as the Renault Triber is. The other is known by the name YK9 and could be based on the Suzuki Hustler
