11 SUVs Launching In The Next Few Weeks

The SUV game is getting more intense in the Indian market. In the coming weeks, we will see launches from major brands. These will include products from both Indian and foreign brands. Here are 11 such launches.
Maruti Suzuki is set to launch a highly anticipated SUV on September 3, 2025. One of these will be the Escudo. It will be a mid-size SUV that will be sold through Arena dealerships. It is expected to be larger than the Grand Vitara in dimensions. It will have a strong focus on occupant comfort and will come well-equipped with features and technology. The new SUV will come with Level-2 ADAS, powered tailgate and a panoramic sunroof.
The Escudo will borrow its powertrain options from the Grand Vitara. It will thus have the 1.5-litre mild hybrid petrol engine that makes 103hp, 1.5-litre strong hybrid unit that produces 116hp and even the CNG powertrain. Both manual and automatic transmissions will be offered. Rumours also suggest that the new vehicle will be equipped with AWD (All Wheel Drive) hardware as well. In the Indian market, the Escudo will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv, Honda Elevate and MG Astor.
Expected Price: 10-18 lakh
The second model to roll out from Maruti’s stable will be the eVitara electric SUV. It will reportedly go on sale on August 26, 2025. In addition to being sold here, the e- SUV will also be exported to global markets as well. When launched, the eVitara will offer two battery pack choices- 48.8kWh and 61.1kWh. The larger of these will have a claimed range of 500 km per charge. This will give the SUV a competitive placement in the Indian market.
In global markets, All Wheel Drive (AWD) tech is offered on the eVitara. It remains to be seen if this will be brought to India as well. Maruti will launch the eVitara in three trims- Delta, Zeta, and Alpha- and 10 colour options.
Expected price: Rs 17-22.50 lakh
Putting an end to long waits, Tata Motors is set to launch the all-new Sierra in India. There will be both EV and Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) forms of it. The launch is expected during the festive season. The EC will be underpinned by the Acti.EV+ platform, also found on the recently launched Harrier.EV. The battery choices are likely to be 60 kWh and 75 kWh. The larger of these will have a claimed range of over 500 km per charge.
The ICE version will be underpinned by the new ATLAS platform and will have both petrol and diesel engine options- 2.0L Stellantis-sourced diesel and a newly developed 1.5L TGDi turbocharged petrol. Both manual and automatic transmissions are expected to be offered.
Expected price: Rs 20-25 lakh (EV), 11-20 lakh (ICE)
Mahindra has sent out invites for a reveal/launch event scheduled for September 3, 2025. Two products are likely to be launched in this event. One would be the facelifted Thar (3-door) which has been spotted on test several times.
This will be the first major update to the three-door Thar which had originally made its premier in 2020. The facelifted SUV will get ROXX-like upgrades in its design and cabin. As confirmed by spy shots previously, the new Thar will feature the ‘Six Pack’ grille made popular by the ROXX. The headlamps, bumpers, and various other areas will also witness notable restyling. Inside, the new vehicle will get a large 10.25-inch central infotainment screen, a new steering wheel, and a few other features.
On the mechanical front, it is expected to get a new rear suspension geometry and the same will likely use Frequency Selective Damping (FSD). These should get the outgoing model's biggest drawback- the messy rear suspension- fixed.
Expected price: 12-18 lalkh
The Bolero has been a long-standing nameplate and is due for an update. The new-generation Bolero will sit on the newly-developed NU_IQ modular platform. It is expected to borrow heavily from the Vision S, in terms of design. Since it is based on the NU_IQ platform, the new Bolero will have a wheelbase of 2665 mm and come with a five-link rear suspension with Davinci dampers. We hope to learn more about this SUV in September.
Expected price: Could start at Rs 12 lakhs
The Majestor will be MG’s rival to the hot-selling Toyota Fortuner. It was previously showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo this year. It was originally slated to launch in May, but was later delayed. Now, we expect the Majestor to hit the market during the festive season. The SUV will have butch proportions and an upright design.
The cabin will have major improvements over that of the outgoing Gloster. ( If you didn’t know it yet, the Majestor is essentially a generational update of the Gloster) It will also come with the same engine as the Gloster- a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel mated to an automatic transmission.
Expected price: Rs 40 lakh
The Venue has a solid footprint in the sub-4-meter SUV segment in India. The new generation will bring better styling and more features to the vehicle, making it a more rounded package. The launch is expected in October this year.
The new Venue wil have a completely new design. Key highlights are boxier proportions, squared-out split LED headlights, a rectangular grille which resembles the one on the new Alcazar, thicker wheel arches, new wheels, connected LED tail lights and more. Inside, we expect to find new features like dual 12.3-inch screens, a fresh steering wheel design, ventilated front seats, and even a panoramic sunroof. The powertrain choices will likely remain unchanged.
Expected Price: Could start at 8 lakh.
Tata Motors is working on a significant facelift to its Punch micro-SUV. The new Punch will likely come with major restyling at most places. Big changes are expected in places like the grille, headlamps etc. The vehicle will also ride on a new set of wheels. Inside, the cabin layout and design will both improve.
The manufacturer is likely to add more features to the new model. It could get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen with slimmer bezels and better display quality. The dashboard will have a layered theme to it and Tata’s new two-spoke steering wheel design will also mark its presence on the new car. It will likely get a touch-based HVAC panel as well. Powertrain choices are expected to remain untouched on the new car. Launch is expected by November.
Expected Price: Likely to start at over Rs 6 lakh
The Vietnamese carmaker Vinfast is expected to launch its first two products in the Indian market in the coming weeks- the VF6 and VF7.
The VF6 is the smaller of the two and will be a Creta rival when it finally hits the market. Both these will be electric SUVs. The VF6 will have a (best in segment) motor output of 210 PS. It will come equipped with features like a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 26 smart features, a head-up display (HUD), ADAS and 360° camera.
Expected price: Rs 25 lakh
The VF7 will be a bigger electric SUV, with a different character. It is claimed to offer great comfort at the rear seats and will come with an all-electric powertrain that can produce 349 horsepower and 500 Nm. It will be able to do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 5.8 seconds and will have selectable driving modes.
Expected price: Rs 50 lakh
The Curvv has been selling well in India. It now comes with both ICE and EV powertrains. The ICE version borrows its engines and transmissions from the hot-selling Nexon. It thus offers three powertrain choices- two turbocharged petrol and a diesel. The carmaker now has plans of adding the iCNG to the Curvv’s lineup in the near future. The coupe SUV will get a CNG version soon.
Like the other models, it will also offer a twin-cylinder technology for storing CNG, which will ensure a usable boot space. This version will use the 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine as its base.
*All prices mentioned above are ex-showroom.
