The year 2025 is an exciting year for the Indian electric four-wheeler market. We say this because major automakers are gearing up for the launch of a number of affordable electric cars in India. In this list, we are sharing with you the details of 12 affordable electric cars that will be launched this year. So, without any delay, let's jump right into the list.
The first electric vehicle on this list is none other than the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. It is the brand's first electric vehicle in India. This mid-size EV SUV will be launched next month in April. It will be offered with two battery pack options—45 kWh and 61 kWh. The former will get a single motor setup with 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the latter will be offered with a single motor (172 bhp) and an all-wheel-drive dual motor setup making 181 bhp and 300 Nm of torque.
Next up on the list is the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara's badge-engineered cousin, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Electric SUV. This SUV will get the exact same powertrain as the e-Vitara. However, on the outside, it will boast a different design. It is expected to be launched later this year and will be priced around Rs 20-25 lakh, the same as the e-Vitara.
Kia is also gearing up for the launch of its first mass-market electric vehicle, the Carens EV, in India. The electric version of its already popular MPV will be launched in the coming months. It will most likely get the same electric powertrain as the Hyundai Creta Electric. This could include two battery pack options—51.4 kWh and 42 kWh. The former offers 473 km of range, and the latter offers 390 km of range.
Mahindra will be launching the electric version of the XUV700, which will be called the XEV 7E, in India in the coming months. It could also be getting an AWD system.
In addition to the XEV 7E, the company has also been testing the XUV 3XO EV, which is the facelifted version of the XUV400 EV. This new model is expected to get the same battery pack as the current XUV400. It will take on the Tata Nexon.ev in India along with the newly launched MG Windsor EV.

Along with the launch of the Harrier.ev, Tata Motors will also launch the Safari.ev. It will also get the same electric powertrain as its younger sibling. Once launched, it will take on the Mahindra XEV 9E and 7E in India.
In addition to the Harrier and Safari electric SUVs, Tata Motors, in order to take on the Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, will be launching the Sierra.ev in India. This SUV will also be based on the same Acti.ev architecture and will offer both AWD and RWD capabilities. The battery pack is also expected to be the same 75 kWh, offering a real-world range of 500 km on a single full charge.
