Presently, the Mahindra Scorpio-N is one of the most popular SUVs in India, and this has been the case since its launch two years ago. However, despite this popularity, Mahindra has been very secretive about one crucial aspect of the Scorpio-N—the ARAI-certified mileage figures. For years, Mahindra has shied away from revealing the mileage of its SUVs, especially for those equipped with bigger engines. However, finally, after two years, the ARAI-certified mileage figures for the 2024 Mahindra Scorpio-N have been revealed.

Scorpio-N Mileage Figures Unveiled

As per V3 Cars, the 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine that comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission delivers an ARAI mileage of 12.70 kmpl. Meanwhile, the automatic version of the same engine offers a slightly lower mileage of 12.12 kmpl.

As for the diesel motor, which is the 2.2-liter engine, the manual transmission variant has an ARAI mileage of 15.42 kmpl. The automatic transmission variant of the same engine option also offers 15.42 kmpl, same as the manual gearbox variant.

The 2.0-liter petrol engine of the Mahindra Scorpio-N produces a maximum power of 203 PS. It also makes 370 Nm of torque with manual transmission and 380 Nm of torque with automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the 2.2-liter diesel engine, which is the more popular of the two, comes in two states of tune. The first and lower state of tune offers 132 PS and 300 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the more powerful tune offers 175 PS and 370 Nm of torque with a manual gearbox and 400 Nm with automatic transmission.

ARAI Figures

For those who may not be aware, ARAI mileage figures are calculated after driving the vehicle under laboratory conditions. They are meant to provide a benchmark for potential buyers. It’s important to note that real-world mileage generally varies due to factors. These factors include driving style, traffic conditions, weather, and whether the air conditioner is in use.

Why is this important?

The release of the ARAI mileage figures for the Scorpio-N is noteworthy because Mahindra, mostly during the launch, does not disclose the ARAI mileage figures for its SUVs. This is because the company mostly produces bigger SUVs with bigger engines.

So releasing ARAI mileage figures can cause a negative view of its powerful SUVs. Not that it matters to the buyers of its SUVs. However, in order to protect the image of its vehicles, the company usually avoids providing ARAI figures for its popular SUVs.

Mahindra Scorpio-N: Recently updated

In other news, Mahindra has recently introduced several new features to the Scorpio-N. This has been done to enhance its sales due to the launch of a ton of other SUVs. The top three trims of the SUV—Z8 Select, Z8, and Z8 L—have received notable updates without any increase in price.

The Z8 Select and Z8 trims now come equipped with a wireless charger and a high-gloss finish for the center console. Meanwhile, the range-topping Z8 L trim has been upgraded with ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless charging pad with active cooling, and the same high-gloss finish as the other trims.

Additionally, the Midnight Black paint shade, previously exclusive to the Z8 Select, is now available across all Z8 trims. The Mahindra Scorpio-N currently starts at Rs 13.85 lakh for the Z2 petrol variant. From there, it goes all the way up to the Z8 L diesel automatic transmission variant, which is priced at Rs 24.54 lakh.
