Prior to its official launch, which will take place on the 15th of August, Mahindra has been steadily building anticipation for its upcoming 2024 Thar Roxx. Recently, the company once again shared another teaser, revealing more of its features. Apart from this new teaser, the company has also showcased how this SUV will look in the popular shade of white.

Thar Roxx: New Features Unveiled

In the most recent teaser, Mahindra has confirmed that the Thar Roxx will come equipped with ventilated front seats, hill descent control, and an electrically actuated rear differential lock. These features are currently not available in the three-door Thar. Apart from these, the company has also showcased that it will be getting beige leatherette upholstery.

It will also feature a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is the same screen that we have seen in the recently launched Mahindra XUV 3XO. Additionally, it will get a 10.25-inch fully digital driver’s display as well. It will boast a customizable interface for monitoring vehicle information.

Another standout feature of the Thar Roxx will be the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, for the comfort of rear passengers, the company will add dedicated AC vents. Other notable features will include cruise control, steering-mounted audio controls, and a Harman Kardon audio system.

Moving on to the safety features, the SUV will come equipped with six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), electronic stability control, and a suite of Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). As for the ADAS features, it will include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking, among others.

Engine and Powertrain Options

In terms of the powerplant, the Mahindra Thar Roxx will offer a choice of two engine options. The first will be a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, and the other will be a 2.2-liter mHawk turbo-diesel engine. These engines are expected to be tuned to deliver more power than the engines available in the three-door Thar.

Both engines will be available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a torque converter automatic transmission. The Thar Roxx will also be offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) variants.

Exterior Design

As stated, the company recently showcased the white color Thar Roxx as well. The new SUV will get a new front fascia featuring a new grille design with six hollow rectangles on top and four on the bottom, along with triangular elements at the extreme ends.

This grille will be finished in the body color and will give the Thar Roxx a more premium appearance. The headlights have been upgraded to all-LED units, replacing the halogen lights found in the three-door version. They will come combined with C-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The vehicle will also come with new 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
