Ever since the launch of the Thar Roxx, many people have been wondering how it compares with the Thar three-door. Recently, a video showing a comparison between these two siblings has been shared online. In this video, the vlogger highlights all the differences between the two models. With its help, you can now determine which Thar will be better suited for your use case.
Thar Roxx vs Thar Three-door

The vlogger starts off by showing the side profiles of these SUVs and compares their overall dimensions. She first states that the Thar three-door measures 3,995 mm, and the Thar Roxx measures 4,428 mm.
The increase in this dimension translates to a bigger wheelbase. The Thar three-door offers a wheelbase of 2,450 mm, and the Thar Roxx offers 2,850 mm. There is an increase of 400 mm in the wheelbase, which has all been added in the middle to provide better legroom for the rear passengers.
Moving on, she talks about the width and height of both cars. The Thar Roxx measures 1,870 mm in width and 1,923 mm in height. On the other hand, the Thar three-door measures 1,820 mm in width and 1,896 mm in height. The new Thar Roxx is bigger in all dimensions except for the ground clearance.
Exterior Design Comparison
Next up, the vlogger talks about the design differences between these two siblings. She first talks about the alloy wheels, where the Thar Roxx gets 19-inch alloy wheels, while the Thar three-door gets 18-inch alloys. The Thar Roxx alloy wheels also look more premium with a dual-tone finish.
Following this, she shows the front-end design of both SUVs. The Thar Roxx now comes equipped with a brand-new grille, which looks decent. However, she points out that the three-door model comes with an ugly grille, which most car owners get changed immediately. Also, the Thar Roxx comes with C-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlamps.
Meanwhile, the Thar three-door did not even come with an LED bulb. Rather, it came with halogen headlights and no LED DRLs. Most owners also change this headlight immediately after buying. She also points out that the Thar Roxx gets LED turn indicators, which have now been made slimmer, while the three-door model gets halogen-based turn indicators.
The vlogger also highlights that the front of the Thar Roxx also gets ADAS Level 2, a front parking camera, and sensors. Meanwhile, the Thar three-door only came with two parking sensors. She also points out that the new Thar Roxx gets LED fog lights. On the other hand, the Thar three-door comes with halogen fog lights.
Interior Design Differences
Moving on, the vlogger then shows the interior design of the Thar Roxx and compares it with the three-door model. The new Roxx gets premium features such as a push start-stop button from the base variant, white leatherette upholstery, a multifunction steering wheel, a digital instrument gauge cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and an electronic parking brake.
She also adds that the Thar Roxx gets a 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a panoramic sunroof, an electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated seats at the front, and automatic climate control. Additionally, it also comes with window controls on each door, as opposed to window controls located in the middle.
She then shows the interior of the Thar three-door, which has the same overall layout. However, it misses out on a number of roof features offered in the new and more premium Thar Roxx. She stated that the Thar three-door’s interior feels a little more utilitarian and rugged.
The main difference the vlogger highlights is in the back seats. She mentions that the three-door Thar had a very impractical design, and it is best suited for those who want to use it as a secondary vehicle. Meanwhile, the Thar Roxx is for those who want a more practical car with a ton of creature comforts and rear seats that are comfortable, and can accommodate three people at the rear.
