All-New 2024 Maruti Dzire Mileage Revealed: Almost Equal To That Of Swift

Maruti Suzuki has revealed the new Dzire compact sedan in India. The car gets a new design, better interior, more features, and revised powertrains. Instead of the previous four-cylinder engine, it now has a new 1.2L (Z12E), 3-cylinder petrol engine that comes with both manual and AMT automatic transmission options. Maruti Suzuki has now revealed the mileage figures of the new sedan.
This is the same engine from the new Swift hatchback. It is known for its fuel efficiency. If the numbers revealed by Maruti Suzuki are to be believed, the new Dzire would deliver almost the same mileage as the hatchback. The new generation Dzire is claimed to have an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 25.71kmpl on the AMT variant while the manual is claimed to deliver 24.79kmpl. The Swift has ARAI-certified mileage figures of 24.80 kpl for the manual and 25.75 kmpl for the AMT.
The new Dzire also has a CNG version, which is available with a manual gearbox alone. It has an ARAI-certified mileage of 33.73km/kg.
The new compact sedan comes in four variants- LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus. While the prices are expected to be out on November 11, 2024, here is everything to know about it. The new Dzire gets a completely new design.
Key highlights include a large grille with horizontal slats, angular LED headlamps, Black housings for the fog lamps, new alloy wheels, a good-looking roof line, a fresh design for the tailgate, new LED tail lamps with Y-shaped elements, a new rear bumper and tasteful use of Chrome. The fourth generation Dzire stays clear of the ‘Swift with a boot’ image. The tyres could seem to be too slim for a car of this class.
The interior design and feature list have also been revised completely. It gets a new tetra-tone design that is practical. Black and Beige have been used as primary cabin colours while there are also Satin Silver and Faux wood trims. The car comes with features like automatic climate control, a new steering wheel with integrated controls for audio, telephony and cruise control, a first-in-segment single-pane sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a large 9-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and a wireless charger.
The highly sought-after ‘sunroof’ has made its premiere on the Dzire range through the fourth generation. Interestingly, the gen-4 Swift, which it is based on, does not get this feature.
The new Dzire is expected to be priced at around 6.7 lakh, ex-showroom. In the Indian market, it will face competition primarily from the Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura. The Amaze is also set to get an update soon. Though little is known about the design and details of the new car, it is expected to be larger than the predecessor and be based on the City’s platform.
As per a teaser released by Honda Cars India, it will have a more angular, more imposing and modern design. The car will also get an updated cabin and more features, even while continuing with the same set of engine and gearboxes as before. It is also heard that the next generation Amaze will have a CNG option too. In this case, it will be able to put up a stronger fight against the Dzire. At present the Maruti sedan has a strong dominance in the CNG sedan space, particularly popular among fleet owners.
