Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Dzire in India. It is currently available in four variants, namely LXI, VXI, ZXI, and ZXI+. Now, if you are interested in getting one but are confused between the base LXI and mid-spec VXI variant, then we have the answer for you. Recently, a video of these two variants being compared side by side has been shared online.

This video comparison of the new Dzire’s LXI and VXI variant has been shared on YouTube by Bhaiyaji Gaadi on their channel. It starts with the host introducing the two sedans. He mentions that the silver Dzire on the left side is the VXI variant, and the white Dzire on the right side is the base LXI variant.

Following this, he states that the base variant is priced at Rs 6.79 lakh. On the other hand, the VXI variant is priced at Rs 7.79 lakh, which is Rs 1 lakh more expensive. After this, the host then starts with the comparison of the two variants.

After giving the introduction, the vlogger first talks about the exterior differences between the two variants. He starts at the front and mentions that there is not a significant amount of difference between them. The biggest one is that the VXI variant comes with a gloss black centerpiece behind the logo.

This piece on the base LXI variant is finished in matte black. Apart from this, both variants get the same matte black grille and halogen-based projector headlights. Both LXI and VXI variants miss out on fog lights. Next up, he shows the side profile and highlights the differences.

The base LXI variant gets indicators on the fender, and it comes with matte black manual ORVMs and matte black door handles. Meanwhile, the VXI variant comes with automatic ORVMs with turn indicators. It also gets body-colored door handles as well.

The host also mentions that although both get 14-inch steel wheels, the VXI gets them in black, and the LXI comes with silver wheels. Lastly, at the rear, there are no differences except for the silver garnish.

After showing the exterior design differences, the vlogger talks about the differences in the interior of the two variants. He starts by showing the cabin of the Dzire VXI and states that it comes equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. It gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well.

The VXI variant also comes with controls on the steering wheel for the music system. On the other hand, the LXI variant misses out on all of these features. It also does not come equipped with charging ports, rear AC vents, and a rear armrest.

Some other differences include chrome garnish around the gear knob, four speakers and adjustable headrests in the VXI variant, which are missing on the LXI variant. Apart from this, the vlogger mentions that the quality of fabric used in the VXI variant is also slightly different than the LXI variant.

Finally, the vlogger then opens the bonnet and states that both variants, along with the top-spec ZXI and ZXI+, come with the same engine. They all get the new Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which makes 81 PS and 111 Nm of torque. The only difference is that the base variant comes only with a manual transmission option. Meanwhile, the VXI gets the optional AGS gearbox as well.
