2024 MG VS Hybrid SUV Seen Undisguised In India: Previews Astor Facelift
When it comes to the compact SUV segment in India, the MG Astor is one of the last cars that come to anyone’s mind. The reason is that it has been kept since its launch with only a dark edition introduced in the recent past. So, taking note of this issue, the company is now gearing up for the launch of the new MG Astor Facelift in India. Recently, a fully undisguised version of the MG VS Hybrid SUV was seen. The MG VS Hybrid SUV’s styling is likely to influence that of the Astor Facelift.
MG VS Hybrid SUV: Exterior design updates
Front
From the leaked images, we can note that the company has given this SUV a brand-new front fascia. We can note that the front grille has now been finished in black with a hint of blue in between. The LED headlights have also been made sleeker and now get new internals.
The front grille also looks very modern and fresh. Also, the overall front bumper looks a lot more aggressive than before. Lastly, there is a bigger air dam on the lower section of the front bumper. Most likely, this same styling will be carried forward with the MG ZS EV SUV as well.
Side
Coming to the side profile, the car now comes equipped with a new set of alloy wheels. Most likely, these are also 16-inch alloy wheels, but they now come with a new diamond-cut finish. Apart from these, the side profile has been kept the same as the current model. It still gets silver roof rails and chrome lower window garnish.
Rear
As for the rear end, the overall design looks pretty much the same as the current model. However, it does get a new rear bumper which looks more sporty and bold. The lower portion of the bumper now houses a more aggressive-looking rear diffuser finished with a silver finish.
Interior updates
Moving on to the interior of the new MG Astor, it seems like the facelifted model will be getting a brand-new dashboard layout. It will look very similar to that of the new Creta with a dual-connected touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrument gauge cluster. The centre console now also looks different.
It gets a more premium-looking piano black finish. We can note that there is a small gear selector. Additionally, we can also note an electronic parking brake in the middle as well. Most likely, it will also come with a wireless charger, ADAS level 2, 360-degree camera, and other modern features.
2024 MG Astor engine options
MG will most likely keep the powertrain options the same as the current model. The current MG Astor comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The naturally aspirated engine produces 110 PS and 144 Nm.
This engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. On the other hand, the turbocharged engine puts out 140 PS and 220 Nm. It is offered only with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. There is no diesel engine on offer. The company recently also launched the MG Astor Blackstorm.
