2025 Renault Triber launched

Kickstarting its brand revival journey, Renault India has launched the all-new Triber. The Triber, a pocket-friendly people-mover from the French carmaker, has had fair acceptance in our market. The new model could thus play a key role in shaping Renault's future sales. It is priced from Rs 6.29 lakh - 8.64 lakh, ex-showroom and continues to be India's most affordable people-mover.

Changes In A Nutshell

Well, the 2025 update for the Triber is mostly cosmetic. The vehicle gets no mechanical changes and the powertrain choices continue to be the same as before. The MPV has had just cosmetic updates and feature additions. Now let's get into the details...

A Closer Look At The Variants And Prices

Taking a closer look at the prices, we see that Renault has made a conscious effort to give this MPV the right pricing. The previous Triber had a starting (ex-showroom) price of Rs 6.14 lakh, and the top-spec used to come at Rs 8.98 Lakh, ex-showroom. The new vehicle thus commands a premium of just 15,000 over the previous car's base-spec, while the price difference between the top-spec variants amounts to Rs 34,000.

Previously, the Triber used to come in four trims- RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ. On the updated model, the carmaker has renamed these to Authentic , Evolution, Techno and Emotion. This nomenclature will be used in all future Renault models as well. Below are the variant-wise prices:

  • Authentic: 6.29 lakh
  • Evolution: 7.24 lakh
  • Techno: 7.99 lakh
  • Emotion: 8.64 lakh

*All prices ex-showroom

In the Indian market, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga continues to be its closest rival. It, however, starts at 8.97 lakh, ex-showroom- more expensive than the top-spec Triber. The 7-seater B-segment still has the Triber's monopoly in it.

Detailing The Changes

The Triber was first introduced in India in 2019. Today, it really shows its age. The updated Triber comes just in time, and brings along a lot of fresh appeal. The design sees several tasteful revisions, including the addition of the new Renault diamond logo.

The new logo is part of Renault India's proposed transformation under the brand's 'renault. rethink' philosophy and the Triber is the first model to get it. It shows a minimalist, interlocked diamond and will be used on all future models, like the upcoming Duster and the Boreal.

The previous Triber had a more utilitarian design. It did not top the chart in terms of aesthetic appeal. The new model, in fact, looks a lot better. It gets a new front fascia. You can see a new Black front grille with angular slats and impressive attention to detail, housing the new Renault logo.

The bonnet now looks taller, bolder and more upright than what was offered on the previous Triber. The bumper is new. You will also find notable tweaks in the LED headlamps' design.

The overall design has made a transition to Renault's most modern ethos. The side view is almost the same as the previous Triber. You will, however, notice new wheel covers.

At the rear, the tailgate design, especially the character lines on it, have been tweaked slightly. The 'Triber' lettering looks different as well. There are bold Black/Grey inserts on the rear bumper and a Black horizontal strip on the tailgate. The LED tail lamps are blacked out. The colour palette has also been revisited. Three new shades are now offered.

To stay more relevant (and competitive) in the market, the cabin has also received updates. It now gets a new dashboard layout and a large, floating 8-inch touchscreen. The colour scheme has been changed to something more pleasant and modern. You will also see the use of more premium trims inside. Other features offered are automatic headlamps and wipers. These revisions pack more value into the product.

No mechanical changes can be found on the new Triber. It continues to be based on the CMF-A platform. Powering it is the same 1.0-litre, naturally aspirated three-cylinder petrol engine that makes 71 hp and 96 Nm. Two gearboxes continue to be offered- a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT. The company is also offering the option of a CNG retrofit kit on the updated Triber. Interestingly, the long-rumoured turbo-petrol engine hasn't been introduced on the updated model.
