The Czech automaker Skoda India has taken the country by storm with the launch of its sub-compact SUV, Kylaq. This brand-new SUV has been launched at a competitive price of Rs 7.89 lakh. Now, to give you a better look at this all-new sub-compact SUV, here is the image gallery of the Skoda Kylaq.
The newest SUV, Kylaq, from Skoda is based on the MQB A0 IN platform. This is the same platform on which the Skoda Slavia, Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and Virtus are based. As for dimensions, the Skoda Kylaq is 230 mm shorter than the Kushaq and boasts a length of 3,995 mm. Its wheelbase is also 85 mm shorter than the Kushaq.
In terms of design at the front, the Skoda Kylaq boasts the same “Modern Solid” design language. As part of this signature Skoda design language, it gets a butterfly grille, a split LED headlight setup with LED DRLs up top, and main headlights on the lower portion. It also gets a honeycomb grille on the lower section of the bumper, along with a silver skid plate.
Moving on to the side profile, the SUV gets a proportionate silhouette that looks very similar to the Kushaq. It gets black side claddings and a set of roof rails.
The SUV also comes equipped with 17-inch multispoke alloy wheels on the top-spec variants.
Moving on to the rear section, this sub-compact SUV gets a distinct design for its taillights, and it also gets the new Skoda lettering logo in the center. Additionally, there is a chunky black bumper with a massive silver skid plate. There is also a rear wiper and shark fin antenna.
The overall dashboard layout of the Skoda Kylaq is very similar to the Skoda Kushaq mid-size SUV. It retains the same design with a 10-inch infotainment screen dominating the center. It also gets horizontally positioned AC vents in the center and vertically stacked vents on the sides.
The automatic climate controls are positioned underneath the AC vents. Along with it, the dashboard also gets a unique material with an accent line in the middle. There is also the same two-spoke steering wheel and an 8-inch digital instrument gauge cluster.
Other features of the Skoda Kylaq include a sunroof, keyless entry, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front seat ventilation, powered front seats, and leather upholstery. Additionally, the Kylaq also gets a cooled glovebox.
The SUV also comes with 446 liters of boot space, which is the best in the sub-compact SUV segment.
In terms of the powertrain, the Skoda Kylaq comes offered with a single engine option. It gets a 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol three-cylinder engine, which makes 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. 0-100 kmph happens in just 10.5 seconds.
