A Closer Look At The ADAS Equipped Toyota Fortuner Launching Soon In India [Video]
The Toyota Fortuner is a legendary SUV which is being sold in the Indian market for more than fifteen years now. Some people criticize this SUV for not having modern day features such as ADAS or a 360 degree camera. Today, we will cover the updated 2024 Toyota Fortuner GR Sport which comes packed with all the modern day features. The car is shown in a YouTube video uploaded by Rajni Chaudhary.
The video starts with the front look of the car. Along with the feature additions, a new red paint shade is introduced which is the one shown in the video. The Fortuner GR Sport comes with some cosmetic changes such as bumpers, lights and the interior color combination over the regular Fortuner. However, this version of the Fortuner did not sell much here in India.
At the front, the SUV looks quite similar to the Fortuner Legender. The GR Sport Fortuner offered LED lighting setup, front parking sensors and a matte black grille with glossy black surrounds. A new addition in the front is the front parking camera which is shown in the video. Cosmetically, the SUV has not received any changes as compared to the current GR Sport Fortuner.
The host then proceeds to show us the ADAS radar which is mounted on the windshield. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels finished in a color combination of dark grey and glossy black. The braked calipers are finished in red with GR Sport badging.
The roof and the ORVMs of the SUV are black to give the car an aesthetic look. The ORVMs feature a camera which is a part of the new 360 degree camera setup.
The interior of the SUV is finished in an all black theme with red stitching to add to the sporty appeal. As this car is not the Indian spec, the infotainment system is different. Other than this, the cabin of the GR Sport Fortuner has seen no updates.
The seats of the car come with GR Sport badge and they are finished in leatherette with suede like material. The overall theme is complimented by red stitching at multiple places.
The ADAS features in the GR Sport Fortuner include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and emergency braking. The rear profile of the SUV is also the same as earlier. It comes with all the necessary features such as rear wiper with washer, reverse parking camera with sensors, defogger, high mount stop lamp and a spoiler.
The Toyota Fortuner GR Sport can be opted with a 2.8 litre diesel or a 2.7-litre petrol engine. The diesel engine produces 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque while the petrol engine delivers 164 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque. Both the engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic torque converted. Further, the GR Sport is available with both 4×2 and 4×4 powertrain options.
