2025 Citroen Basalt X: Detailed Walkaround Of The Most-Loaded Basalt [Video]

The French automaker Citroen recently launched the updated 2025 Basalt X in India. This time around, the company has paid close attention to details and has made this unique-looking coupe SUV a lot more premium than before. It gets a ton of new exterior and interior upgrades, which make it a very lucrative option in the market. Here is a video walkaround of the new Citroen Basalt X at a dealership.
This video, showing all the updates of the 2025 Citroen Basalt X, has been shared on YouTube by Area of Interest on their channel. It starts off with the details of the variants of this SUV. The Basalt comes in three trims - You, Plus, and Max. It starts at Rs 7.67 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 12.45 lakh for the Max variant.
Following this, the video then shows the exterior design of the new Basalt X. At the front, the SUV gets the signature Citroen gloss black grille with chrome, Y-shaped LED DRLs with projector headlights, and halogen indicators. It also comes with new LED fog lights, a grey front skid plate, and electric ORVMs with turn indicators.
Other notable highlights of the Basalt X include a gloss black roof, shark fin antenna, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, side claddings with chrome insert, flap-style door handles, halogen rear taillights, two reverse parking sensors, and a silver skid plate. Overall, the Basalt X now looks more premium. It also gets a newly redesigned smart key.
Following the exterior, the video then starts showing the interior of the Basalt X. The vehicle now gets “Proxi-Sense” passive entry, redesigned window control buttons with gloss black surrounds, a redesigned dual-tone dashboard, a soft-touch dashboard finish, newly designed AC vents, new diffused ambient lighting, and automatic climate control.
It also gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which comes offered in the mid and top trims. This screen offers My Citroen Connect with 40 smart features, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Google Maps, a 360-degree camera, a wireless charger, and twin cup holders, along with reupholstered seats.
Other notable highlights include a sliding front armrest with storage, ventilated front seats, a 7-inch fully digital TFT instrument gauge cluster, a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control with speed limiter, tilt-adjustable steering, which is also wrapped in leather, and a new push start/stop button.
The Citroen Basalt X is also a very safe car. In the Bharat NCAP, it has scored a decent 4-star safety rating. It comes with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, hill-hold assist, and ISOFIX seat mounts. Overall, the new cabin feels a lot more premium and upscale than before.
Citroen has not changed anything under the bonnet of the Basalt X. It comes with the same engine options as the standard coupe. The first is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, and the other is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol. The former produces 82 PS and 115 Nm, while the latter makes 110 PS and up to 205 Nm.
The naturally aspirated petrol engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission alone, while both a six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox can be had on the turbocharged engine.
