2025 All New Honda Amaze Launch Date Revealed

Honda is set to launch the next-generation Amaze in India. With the Dzire almost out, it was expected for the carmaker to soon come up with an official launch date. Looks like it has! The third-generation Honda Amaze will launch in India, weeks after Maruti Suzuki launches the new Dzire. Expect the Amaze to be out on December 4, 2024. The battle in the compact sedan space would then intensify.
Honda recently released a teaser image of the next-generation Amaze, hinting at the possible design of its front fascia. The car will likely have a completely revamped fascia with slimmer headlamps and a more angular look at large. It will be larger than the predecessor. The design would now stand closer to that of the City.
The new sedan will also come with a larger grille with a honeycomb pattern, which might make you draw visual connections to the newest iteration of the Honda Civic sold abroad. The teaser also shows a tall front bumper with large air inlets and fog lamps. There will likely be another air intake below the grille, in keeping with the manufacturer’s signature design ethos. The headlamps seem to be LED units and would come with LED DRLs that resemble those on the Elevate.
The teaser image doesn’t reveal the entirety of the design. It keeps certain areas in the dark, which we think, would pack surprises. The car will also get a thin Chrome strip above its grille and likely connects the headlamps. From the available details and images, we expect the new Amaze to pack a better stance and more JDM appeal than the car it replaces.
Though little is known about the actual details, the new Amaze will likely come with a completely revamped cabin design and more features and technology. Considering how Maruti Suzuki has finally made the Dzire desirable by adding features like 360 camera, sunroof and climate control, we don’t expect Honda to shy away from doing the same. A better-looking, more premium, feature-rich cabin will only add to the appeal of this sub-4-meter sedan in India. Unfortunately, no details or images of the cabin have yet surfaced online.
No major changes are expected in the powertrain initially. The new Amaze will borrow its 1.2-litre four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine from the previous model. Both a 5-speed manual and a CVT transmission will be offered. If in the same state of tune as before, this engine will produce 88.5 bhp and 110 Nm.
However, if reports are to be believed, Honda could consider giving it a CNG powertrain sometime later. It makes sense to expect so, as the Dzire has long been offering a CNG option, and even the new generation is known to come with a CNG-manual combination. Thus, if Honda chooses to introduce a CNG engine, it will be able to capture its share of the CNG compact sedan segment.
Why CNG you ask? Well, the compact sedan segment manages to attract decent footfalls due to the cost-effective and VFM traits of its products. Running costs matter as much as vehicle prices to the potential buyers of this segment. CNG versions shave off massive chunks from the operating costs. Also, compact sedans continue to be popular among fleet operators, who find CNG as the most viable alternative to petrol. It is not certain if the Amaze would enter the fleet segment with the introduction of CNG powertrain, but the same remains a possibility.
