The Mahindra Scorpio-N has a cult-like following in India, and it is for a very good reason. This proper ladder-on-frame chassis SUV provides a rugged yet stylish appearance and a road presence that is hard to match. Its most affordable variant is the base Z2 variant, which starts at Rs 13.99 lakh, which makes it rival much smaller sub-compact SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Recently, a video showing the updated 2025 Mahindra Scorpio-N Z2 has been shared online.
This video of the Mahindra Scorpio-N base Z2 variant has been shared on YouTube by Fuel Injected on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning the pricing of the Scorpio-N base Z2 variant. He starts by stating that the Z2 variant is offered with two engine options. The first is the petrol variant, which is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh. Then there is the Z2 diesel variant, priced at Rs 14.49 lakh.
2025 Mahindra Scorpio-N Z2: Exterior and powertrain options
Moving on, the vlogger starts showing the front end of the Scorpio-N Z2. He mentions that the base variant comes equipped with halogen headlamps and misses out on LED fog lights and DRLs. It also does not get any silver or chrome garnish elements on the front grille and slats. The vlogger highlights that the front, although feels very empty, still offers the same wide and aggressive stance.
Next up, he unlatches the bonnet and attempts to open it with one hand. The vlogger highlights that the base Z2 does not get any hydraulic assist to open the bonnet. As for the engine options of the base Z2 variant, the host states that this particular vehicle is equipped with the 2.2-litre diesel engine, which comes with the lower power tune.
It makes 132 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other engine option is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor, which makes 203 PS of power and 370 Nm of torque. Both of these engines are only offered with a single 6-speed manual gearbox option.
After talking about the powertrain options of the Scorpio-N Z2 variant, the vlogger moves to the side profile. He mentions that this variant does not come with any chrome on the window trims and also misses out on the signature silver Scorpio-N stinghead in the rear window. Apart from this, he adds that the model gets 17-inch silver steel wheels.
He then shows the rear end of this SUV, which gets the same LED taillights. However, they do not come equipped with the matrix-style turn indicators as the higher variants. Apart from this, it also does not get any silver garnishing and also does not get a roof spoiler. It, however, gets a shark fin antenna on the roof.
Interior
Moving on, the vlogger shows the interior of this SUV. It comes with the same dual-tone black and brown theme as the higher spec variants. However, it misses out on leatherette upholstery. Instead, it gets fabric upholstery with contrast white stitching. On the front, it gets a company-fitted Android touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, semi-digital instrument gauge cluster, and manual air conditioning system.
