2025 Mahindra Thar ROXX Gets 3 New, Super Useful Features
Mahindra launched the Thar Roxx in the market last year. Just like all recent Mahindra products, the Thar Roxx also received an overwhelming response, resulting in long waiting periods. We did a detailed review of the Mahindra Thar Roxx, and in that video, it was evident that the Thar Roxx is loaded with premium features. However, it looks like Mahindra has decided to add more features to this 5-door SUV in 2025.
Mahindra has now introduced three new features in the 2025 Mahindra Thar Roxx. The popular 5-door SUV now comes with keyless entry, a sliding function for the front passenger-side armrest, and more aerodynamic wipers.
These are all convenience features. Earlier, you needed to unlock the Thar Roxx using the key fob. However, with the introduction of the keyless entry feature, one can simply walk up to the vehicle and unlock or lock it without actually taking the keys out. Bollywood actor John Abraham recently took delivery of his customized Thar Roxx, which had this feature.
The next feature is the sliding function for the front armrest. The SUV previously had this function, but only for the driver’s side. Mahindra has now introduced this feature for the co-driver or front passenger as well, adding to the convenience. The third feature is the aerodynamic windscreen wipers, which help in reducing cabin noise.
Thar Roxx
As mentioned above, the Roxx is actually a 5-door version of the popular lifestyle SUV, the Thar. The Thar Roxx offers the best of both worlds—Mahindra provides premium features while ensuring that it remains capable of going off-road.
In terms of features, Mahindra offers ventilated front seats, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, multi-zone climate control, automatic headlights and wipers, and more.
The Roxx also comes with six airbags as standard, along with other safety features such as a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with an auto-hold function, disc brakes on all four wheels, TPMS, Level 2 ADAS, and 18-19 inch wheels.
The Roxx is based on the same platform as the Scorpio N, and the dedicated doors for rear passengers add to the SUV’s practicality. Mahindra is also offering the 4x4 as an option in the diesel variant of the Roxx. The Mahindra Thar Roxx is available with both petrol and diesel engine options, but only the diesel versions get the 4x4 option.
The petrol version of the Roxx is powered by a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged engine that generates 177 PS and 380 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version of the SUV uses a 2.2-litre turbocharged engine from the mHawk series, producing 175 PS and 370 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine in the lower variants generates less power and torque. Both petrol and diesel engine options are available with manual and automatic transmission choices.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx competes with the Force Gurkha 5-door. Prices for the Thar Roxx start at ₹12.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to ₹23.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
