On the outside, the new 2025 Mahindra XUV700 will look exactly the same as the current standard model. It will come with the same black front grille and fully blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels. The Mahindra Scorpio-N Dark Edition is expected to come equipped with dark chrome window lining and a front grille. Apart from these, all the other chrome trims would also be removed from the exterior.
Moving on to the interior, the XUV700 Dark Edition is expected to get a black-themed dashboard and AC vents. The standard ivory interior theme will be changed to black. It will also get black leatherette seats and a smoked chrome surround on various interior elements. The 10.25-inch connected screens (infotainment and digital instrument gauge cluster) remain the same.
The rest of the features that made the Mahindra XUV700 popular in India will also be retained. These features include Alexa Built-In Functionality, Level 2 ADAS, and dual 10.25-inch HD superscreens. Other notable features of this SUV include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Adrenox Connect with a subscription, and a plethora of connected car features.
As for the powertrain options, the XUV700 Dark Edition will be based on the top-spec variants. This means that it will be offered with two powertrain options, including a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine making 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other engine option is a 2.2-litre diesel engine, which makes 182 bhp and 420 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The Mahindra XUV700 Dark Edition will be launched on March 17th. As for the expected pricing, this blacked-out edition will command a slight premium over the standard top-spec variants. Currently, the top-of-the-line XUV700 variants are priced above Rs 22 lakh.
Apart from this, it has also been reported that the company is planning to launch the Dark Edition of the newly launched Thar Roxx, a five-seater, more practical version of the Thar. It could also get the same blacked-out exterior and interior design. More details on this model will be revealed soon.
