Mahindra’s popular SUV, the XUV700, has been in the market for almost 4 years. The XUV700 was so feature-loaded that even today the SUV doesn’t look dated. However, just like any model, a mid-life update was due for the XUV700 too. Mahindra is likely to launch an updated or facelifted version of the XUV700 in the market next year. Mahindra has already started working on the facelift, and we recently came across a video that shows the test mule of the upcoming XUV700 facelift on the road.

The video has been shared by Tamil Motors 360 on their YouTube channel. In this video, we see a fully camouflaged SUV parked on the roadside on a hilly road somewhere in South India. From the video, it looks like Mahindra will be making changes to the front fascia of the SUV.

The headlamps seen on the test mule here are different from the ones that we have seen in the current model. The dummy round headlamps are just test units. The final design of the headlamps, which will be seen on the production version, would be different from the ones seen here.

Apart from the headlamps, we are also expecting minor changes to the front grille and bumper as well. The wheels on this test mule are also camouflaged, but the design looks similar to the one seen on the model currently on sale. Apart from this, the exterior design of the XUV700 looks the same. Maybe this is just the initial stage of testing, and we will see an updated version with more changes on the road soon.

Mahindra will be making minor changes to the exterior design, as this is a facelift and not a generation update. In terms of features, the Mahindra XUV700 is already a feature-loaded SUV. The updated version is likely to offer the existing features and more.

There is a possibility that the triple-screen setup that we saw in the XEV 9E might make its way to the XUV700 facelift. The Level 2 ADAS suite will offer more features than now, and it might also get a different colour theme for the cabin.

The car is available with ice-grey coloured interiors, but the facelift might get a different shade, which would give the interior a fresh look. It will continue to offer features like seat ventilation, a panoramic sunroof, flush-fitting smart door handles, and so on.

The test mule seen here uses the same tail lamps as the current version. Mahindra might offer a slightly revised version of the tail lamps to complete the look.

Coming to the engine, Mahindra is expected to offer the XUV700 with the same set of petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version will use a 2.0-litre mStallion series turbocharged engine, and the diesel version will use a 2.2-litre turbocharged engine.

Both petrol and diesel engines will be offered with manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. With all these changes in place, Mahindra is likely to increase the price of the SUV. The SUV is expected to launch in the market sometime next year.
