2025 MG Astor Gets New Branding: Starts At Rs 9.99 Lakh

The British motoring brand Morris Garages, or JSW MG Motor, in order to lure in more buyers for its mid-size SUV Astor, has given it a new branding. Dubbed as “The Blockbuster SUV,” the 2025 MG Astor now gets a few new updates in terms of pricing and features. It has now also become the only mid-size SUV in India to offer a panoramic sunroof under Rs 12.5 lakh. The 2025 MG Astor now starts at Rs 9.99 lakh.

2025 MG Astor: What's new?

As part of the new update, the 2025 MG Astor now gets more features in its mid Shine variant. It now comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, making it the most affordable mid-size SUV in India to come offered with this premium feature. It also gets an upgraded six-speaker audio system. In addition to the Shine variant, the Select variant of the Astor comes equipped with six airbags.

The Astor now also comes with 50+ safety features. Its main highlights include ADAS Level 2 with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise, and autonomous emergency braking. It also gets ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and an auto-dimming IRVM. Also, MG offers this mid-size SUV with a personal AI assistant.

Its i-Smart 2.0 system comes with 80+ connected features. The Astor also offers Jio voice recognition, which allows users to access real-time cricket updates, weather updates, horoscopes, and more natural voice commands. On top of it, the SUV comes with a digital key and anti-theft functionality.

Currently, the MG Astor comes with two engine options. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. This motor is capable of producing 110 bhp of power and gets both manual and automatic transmission. There is also a 1.3-litre turbocharged engine, which makes 140 bhp. The 1.5-litre engine is offered with a manual transmission and CVT gearbox, while the 1.3-litre engine comes with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

MG Cyberster and M9 Electric MPV bookings commence

In other MG news, recently MG commenced bookings for its Cyberster EV sports car and the M9 Electric MPV. Both of these vehicles can be reserved with a booking amount of Rs 51,000. To book these, interested customers can visit an MG dealership or the company's official website.

The Cyberster EV comes equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack and a twin electric motor setup. It can make 510 bhp and 725 Nm of torque. As for the 0-100 kmph acceleration, it can achieve this in just 3.2 seconds and offers a range of 580 km on a single full charge. It is believed that the pricing of the Cyberster EV will be around Rs 60-80 lakh.

As for the M9 Electric MPV, it will come equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack and offer a range of 580 km. It will get a 241 bhp and 350 Nm torque-producing electric motor. In terms of pricing, it will be around Rs 60-65 lakh.
