2025 MG Comet Launched With New Features; Starts At Rs 4.99 Lakh

MG Motor India revolutionized the urban mobility space with the Comet EV in April 2023. With its compact proportions and peppy powertrain, this electric hatchback soon rose to acceptance, especially in India's urban jungles. The carmaker has now launched the 2025 Comet EV with more features that aim at further enhancing the occupant experience inside. The updated Comet starts at Rs 4.99 lakh under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, and bookings for the EV are already underway.

2025 MG Comet: What's Different?

The new Comet continues to be offered in five variants- Executive, Excite, Excite Fast Charge (FC), Exclusive, and Exclusive FC. The mid-variants- Excite and Excite FC now get rear parking cameras and power-folding ORVMs.

The higher variants- Exclusive and Exclusive FC now come with premium leatherette upholstery (previously even the range-topping variant used to make do with fabric seats) and a 4-speaker audio system. The Fast Charge (FC) variants now feature a marginally larger 17.4 kWh battery while previously it was a 17.3 unit.

The claimed range is 230 km on every full charge. The powertrain further includes a single electric motor that is capable of churning out 42PS and 110 Nm of torque.

MG Comet BLACKSTORM Edition: Details

In February this year, MG announced the launch of the BlackStorm edition of the Comet EV. With a BaaS price of 7.8 lakh, this special edition adds more flavour to the electric hatchback. If you choose to buy any variant of the Comet under the BaaS program, you will have to pay a battery rent of Rs 2.5/ km.

Like the Gloster and Hector Blackstorm editions, the limited edition Comet too, is finished in an attractive shade of 'Starry Black'. You also get to find a lot of Red highlights and accents on the exterior and inside the cabin. There is limited use of dark Chrome as well.

The Blackstorm edition gets leatherette seats which feature 'BlackStorm' embroidered on them. Key feature highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, electrically adjustable ORVMs, a 4-speaker audio system and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

MG Comet EV Ownership Benefits Announced

MG Motor India has also announced a comprehensive after-sales package under the MG e-Shield program. This includes warranty coverage of 3 years/ 1 lakh km , 3 years Roadside Assistance (RSA), 3 free labour services for the first three scheduled services, and a battery warranty of 8 years / 1.2 lakh km.

With affordable pricing, more features, and a stronger focus on improving cabin experience, the 2025 MG Comet EV has become more desirable and value-packed, as a product. The carmaker's efforts to improve the after-sales experience are also commendable. The Comet could reiterate its position as one of the most desirable urban mobility solutions in the country.
