2025 Skoda Kylaq Base Classic Variant: SUV At Hatchback Price [Video]

Skoda India has managed to make a big name for itself in India with the launch of the new sub-compact SUV Kylaq. This new sub-4m SUV, based on the MQB A0 IN platform, sits underneath the Kushaq in the lineup. The Kylaq starts with a price tag of Rs 7.89 lakh, making it one of the most affordable SUVs in the country. Recently, a detailed video walkaround of the Kylaq’s base Classic variant has been shared online.
This walkaround video, providing all the details about the Skoda Kylaq Classic, has been shared on YouTube by CG 04 Carz on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger mentioning that in this video, he will be providing all the details of Kylaq’s base Classic variant. First off, he starts by mentioning that this variant is priced at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Following this, he starts showing the exterior design details of the Kylaq Classic. At the front, this particular variant comes with a split headlamp setup with reflector-based LED DRLs on the top, which also function as the turn indicators. Apart from this, he explains that until the Signature+ trim, the Kylaq models get reflector-based LED headlights.
The base variant also gets a gloss black grille but misses out on the silver garnish on the lower portion of the front bumper. Next up, he moves to the side profile and highlights that, despite being the base variant, it comes with body-colored door handles, roof rails, and matte black claddings. This variant also misses out on alloy wheels and gets 16-inch steel wheels with silver covers.
Next, the vlogger mentions that the Classic trim also gets a simple short black antenna instead of the shark fin antenna. Apart from this, the rear comes equipped with LED taillights. It does not come with a rear window wiper and washer; however, it does get two reverse parking sensors.
After showing the complete exterior of the Kylaq base Classic variant, the vlogger then shows the engine bay of the vehicle. He adds that the top-spec variant’s engine also looks the same. It comes equipped with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which makes 118 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. He adds that the base variant is only offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Following the engine bay, the vlogger then shows the interior of this variant of the Kylaq. He mentions that, being the base trim, it misses out on a ton of features. He highlights that it does not come with any factory-fitted infotainment system, and it also does not get automatic climate control.
What it does get are all four powered windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, a manual air conditioning system, a small MID in the instrument gauge cluster, and gloss black surrounds on the air vents and air conditioning system. This variant also does not get a wireless charger; rather, it gets a 12V charging socket.
For those who may not be aware, the base variant Classic is currently the most in-demand variant of the Kylaq. The company had to halt the bookings for this particular variant. Apart from this, the second base variant, which is the Signature trim, is also very popular. This variant is priced at Rs 9.59 lakh.
