Skoda Octavia Diesel Coming Back To India: Details
The Czech automaker Skoda is planning to bring back the popular D-segment sedan, the Octavia, in India. This time around, what will make it more special will be its diesel engine. Yes, you read that right. The new 2025 Skoda Octavia will get a 2.0-litre diesel engine and will be launched in India by September 2025. It will make its debut just before the festive season. In addition to the diesel Skoda Octavia, the company will also be launching the Octavia RS in India.

Skoda Auto India’s brand director, Petr Janeba, recently confirmed the launch of the Skoda Octavia diesel in India. He stated, “I think late September should be the date before the festive season comes.” Janeba also highlighted that the diesel sedan will be brought in via the CBU route through the Indian government’s GSR 870 rule.
The new Skoda Octavia will come equipped with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. It will be capable of producing 150 bhp and 340 Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. In terms of design, it will look identical to the model sold in the United Kingdom. It will get updated LED headlights and taillights and an updated interior.
Skoda Octavia RS Also Coming
In addition to the Skoda Octavia diesel, the company will also be launching the Octavia RS in India. For those who may not be aware, the RS version is the high-performance version of the Octavia. On the outside, it will get a blacked-out butterfly grille with RS badging, a redesigned front splitter, a rear diffuser, and a rear spoiler.
Apart from these, it will also get a set of 19-inch directional diamond-cut alloy wheels. It will also get red-painted brake calipers, LED matrix high-beam headlights, and LED rear lights. On the inside, the RS comes with an all-black interior theme, black seats, door panels, and headliner. It also gets contrasting red stitching for a sporty feel.
The Skoda Octavia RS comes equipped with a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine. It produces 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. This motor will come paired with a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It also gets variable-ratio progressive steering as standard. It also gets lowered suspension for better handling.
Skoda has also recently confirmed that it will be launching the Kodiaq RS in India as well. The flagship performance SUV will also get a blacked-out butterfly grille and sportier front and rear bumpers. It also gets 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Like the Octavia RS, it will also come with LED matrix beam headlights and LED taillights.

Recently, Skoda India announced that it has appointed the popular Bollywood star Ranveer Singh as its “brand superstar.” This is the first time that Skoda has appointed a brand ambassador in India. Prior to Skoda, Ranveer Singh used to be the face of Maruti Suzuki’s premium brand, Nexa Experience.
Skoda India is currently riding high on the success of the recently launched Kylaq subcompact SUV. The new subcompact SUV starts at Rs 7.89 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 13.35 lakh. It comes powered by a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which makes 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
