New Skoda Octavia RS Spied At Dealer Ahead Of October 17th Launch
The next big launch from Skoda India is going to be the all new Octavia RS, scheduled to go on sale on October 17, 2025. With days left for the same, the performance sedan has now been spotted at a dealer, completely undisguised. After its showcasing at the Auto Expo this year, this is probably the first time that we get to see the new RS in deep detail.
India-Spec Octavia RS Spotted At Dealer
The new images were shared on the Instagram handle Qm.in. The Octavia RS is seen parked near a building, likely a dealership. The front, rear, and side views are shown in these pictures. The car also has a number plate that reads ‘MH 14 ML 0259’, a quick check of which shows ‘Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd’ as the owner. This, most likely, belongs to the company’s media or marketing fleets.
These images show the exact spec that is coming to India. Interestingly, it isn’t too big a departure from the one sold abroad. The RS shown here is finished in the signature Green colour (which was also seen on the Auto Expo show car). The new RS will have a sporty colour palette.
The design is quite vocal about the vehicle’s performance-oriented nature. Multiple Gloss Black accents can be found on the exterior, which strike contrasts with the body colour, enhancing the sporty appeal. The grille wears Black and has ‘VRS’ written on it. The LED headlamps get a smoked finish.
Black can also be found near the side windows, on the wing mirrors, front and rear bumpers, and the tailpipes. There’s even a Black boot lip spoiler offered. The vehicle has 19-inch wheels with 225/40 Bridgestone rubber. These may be offered as an option, with 18-inchers being the standard fitment. We hope to learn more about this in the upcoming weeks. More About The Octavia RS
Inside, the Octavia RS will have an all-Black theme. Finer details like Red contrast stitching and Black headliner will further highlight the performance genes. The car will also come with sports seats at the front featuring integrated headrests.
The infotainment screen and virtual cockpit will both have RS-spec graphics. Kit levels inside will be decent. It will have a digital instrument cluster, freestanding central touchscreen, soft-touch buttons, and more.
The biggest talking point of the RS will be its engine and the sheer performance it delivers. This sedan will be powered by the same engine that gives life to the Volkswagen Golf GTI 8.5- a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol (EA888) that makes 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. It will come paired with a seven-speed dual clutch (DSG) automatic transmission. The RS will also get a variable-ratio progressive steering and lowered sports suspension.
Booking Already Underway!
Skoda has already started accepting orders for the new Octavia RS through their website. The car will be brought via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, and is likely to get a premium pricing here, just like the Golf GTI.
We don’t expect a sub-50 lakh price for this product here. Considering the fanbase of the previous performance-centric iterations of the Octavia here (including the early VRSs), the new model is likely to find takers easily, even with steep pricing. The Golf GTI’s success further underlines the existence of a performance-hungry crowd that doesn’t mind paying a lump sum for fast cars. The new RS could easily appeal to them.
