2025 Skoda Octavia vRS Spotted Undisguised Ahead Of India Launch

Recently, the Brand Director of Skoda India stated that the Skoda Octavia VRS has been confirmed for launch in India. At the time of the confirmation, no exact date for the launch of this performance-oriented version of the Octavia was shared. Now, before its official debut in India, a fully undisguised Octavia VRS was recently spotted sitting in a parking lot. Most likely, the company will be launching this performance sedan around the festive season.
The spy images of the Skoda Octavia VRS in India have been shared by Car Crazy India on their page. In the images, we can note that the country's first new-generation 2025 Octavia VRS is finished in the bright shade of Mamba green color. The car was also seen with a set of 19-inch anthracite alloy wheels.
Apart from this, the vehicle was seen with the signature VRS blacked-out front grille, Y-shaped LED DRLs and LED projector headlights, and an aggressive front bumper. As for the rear end, the car was seen with sharper LED taillights, Skoda lettering, and a VRS badge on the rear right side. There was also a rear lip spoiler mounted on the rear decklid and a shark fin antenna.
Presently, there are no spy images of the interior of the Octavia VRS. However, the international-spec sedan comes equipped with an all-black interior. Its highlights include black seats and door panels. The VRS variant also gets red contrasting stitching and a black headliner. Other highlights include sports front seats with integrated headrests, and its infotainment system and virtual cockpit both get RS-specific graphics.
The upcoming Skoda Octavia VRS will come powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo petrol motor. As per the company, it will be producing an impressive 265 bhp and 370 Nm of torque. Transmission duties will be handled by a 7-speed DSG gearbox. Along with it, the VRS will get variable-ratio progressive steering as standard, and the Octavia RS comes with a lowered sports suspension.
Skoda is owned by Volkswagen, and the German automaker has recently launched its latest high-performance offering in India. The company, after years of wait, has finally launched the Golf GTI in India with a price tag of Rs 52.99 lakh. This makes it one of the most expensive performance-oriented hatchbacks on sale in India.
This hatchback comes powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the Skoda Octavia VRS. It is also capable of producing 265 PS and 370 Nm. As for the transmission, it gets a 7-speed DSG. The hatchback can do the 0–100 kph run in just 5.9 seconds, has a front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout, and its top speed is limited to 250 kmph.
Volkswagen India has announced that only 150 units of the Golf GTI are being brought via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. Almost 25–30 cars have already been sold in the southern state of Kerala. Popular actors such as Jayasurya, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, and Joju George have added this hatchback to their garage.
It is believed that Skoda will also be bringing very limited units of the Octavia VRS to India. The exact number of units has not been revealed by the company. Once the Octavia VRS goes on sale in India, most likely it will become the more popular of the two performance vehicles from the Volkswagen Group, as the sedan offers a much better value proposition.
Being built on the already popular Octavia premium luxury sedan, the VRS offers more practicality without compromising on performance. It gets a much larger cabin, a bigger boot capacity, and the VRS badge is more familiar amongst Indian enthusiasts. It is believed that the Octavia VRS will also be launched in the price range of Rs 50–60 lakh, making it only slightly more expensive than the Golf GTI.
