Tata Motors launched the facelifted Altroz in India with prices starting at Rs 6.89 lakh, ex-showroom. Bookings will begin on June 2, 2025, and deliveries will follow soon. It comes with a lot of exterior styling changes. The manufacturer has also revised the colour palette of the vehicle.

The new Altroz offers a choice of five colours. The revised palette consists of Dune Glow, Ember Glow, Royal Blue, Pure Grey and Pristine White. Tata considers the Dune Glow and Ember Glow as the backbone of the palette. Most of these colours are tasteful evolutions of those from the predecessor's palette.

The Dune Glow looks brilliant on the new Altroz. It has taken inspiration from the Safari's Cosmic Gold colourway. Tata Motors admits the intention was to instil the (visual) spirit of the flagship Safari into the Altroz. It is a notable departure from the High Street Gold Color of the old Altroz.

The Ember Glow looks striking on the new Altroz. It looks better than the Downtown Red on the pre-facelift car.

Next is the Pure Grey. It is lighter than the Arcade Grey available on the previous Altroz, and banks more towards Nardo Grey offered by certain Volkswagen Group models.

The pre-facelift used to offer two shades of Blue- Harbour Blue and Opera Blue. The former used to be the brighter and the more vibrant of the two. The new car, however, replaces these with the new Royal Blue.

In addition to the revised colour palette, the new Altroz comes with a refreshed 3D grille design, new LED headlamps with DRLs, new front and rear bumpers, new wheels, flush-type door handles, and full-width LED light bar connecting the tail lamps.

The cabin has also been redesigned. It gets a new dashboard design and improved trims and finishes. The feature list has been revised as well. It comes with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch high-definition touchscreen by Harman, an 8-speaker (4 speakers and 4 tweeters) audio system, a new steering wheel design, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, touch-based controls for HVAC, an air purifier, a single-pane sunroof, a wireless charger, climate control with rear AC vents, push-button start/stop, cruise control, auto-folding ORVMs, 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, and revised ambient lighting.

On the powertrain front, the facelift retains the old Altroz's engine options- 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5 CRDi diesel and a dual-cylinder CNG. Today, all of its competitors are petrol-only models. The facelifted Altroz thus offers the maximum number of engine choices in its segment.

Both manual and automatic powertrains are on offer. The pre-facelift used to have a manual and dual-clutch automatic (DCA). The facelift adds a new 5-speed AMT to the lineup as well.

The Altroz's 1.5L diesel engine continues to be offered with the manual transmission alone. It produces 88.76 bhp and 200 Nm, and has a 0-100 kph time of 12.8 seconds. This powertrain is, in fact, quite popular among Altroz buyers.

The new Altroz also comes with the manufacturer's iCNG powertrain. This uses twin cylinder technology. It packs the fuel into two small, interconnected cylinders. This generates more usable boot space, and increases practicality.

On the pre-facelift car, the beefier 120 hp turbocharged petrol engine was kept exclusive to the sportier Racer variant. (The Racer to the Altroz is what the N-Line is to the i20). The facelift makes no change to this either.
