Tata Motors is set to unveil the facelifted Altroz on May 22, 2025, marking a significant update to its premium hatchback. This iteration introduces a range of interior enhancements aimed at elevating the driving experience for Indian consumers.

Feature-Rich Cabin Gets a Tech Upgrade

The refreshed Altroz boasts a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, likely supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Complementing this is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster capable of displaying Google Maps navigation, a first in its segment.

A new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo adds a modern touch to the cabin. The seats have been redesigned with wider dimensions and new upholstery, maintaining the familiar black and beige theme.

Convenience and Safety Additions

The Altroz facelift introduces a 360-degree camera system, enhancing parking and manoeuvring capabilities. While the voice-assisted sunroof is a carryover feature, it remains a notable inclusion in this segment.

Additional features include a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control with rear vents, and an 8-speaker sound system, contributing to a more comfortable and connected driving experience.

Subtle Exterior Tweaks and Powertrain Continuity

Externally, the Altroz Facelift receives a redesigned front fascia with twin-pod LED headlamps and a new 3D grille. The rear features sleek LED tail lamps connected by a full-width light bar, enhancing the vehicle's modern appeal. Flush-fitting door handles and new alloy wheels complete the exterior transformation.

Under the hood, the Altroz Facelift is expected to retain its existing engine lineup, including a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, and a 1.2-litre petrol-CNG bi-fuel option. Notably, the Altroz is the only premium hatchback in India to be sold with a diesel engine. This makes it the 'only option' for those looking for a safe, comfortable premium hatchback with a diesel motor in it.

Facing the Competition

In terms of rivals, the updated Altroz will go up against familiar contenders like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Toyota Glanza and the Hyundai i20. The Baleno, along with its badge-engineered sibling - Glanza - has long held a reputation for its spacious cabin and fuel efficiency, while the i20 is often praised for its refined driving dynamics and feature-rich interiors. The i20 also offers the sporty N-Line trim that takes on the Altroz Racer.

With the addition of a larger touchscreen, digital cluster, and 360 camera, the Altroz now matches or even slightly edges ahead of its rivals in terms of tech offerings. However, its final appeal will depend on how Tata Motors prices and positions it within the segment.

With these updates, the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift aims to strengthen its position in the competitive premium hatchback segment, offering a blend of modern features and reliable performance.
