Tata Motors Puts Out New Crash Test Video Of 2025 Altroz Hatchback: 5 Stars Again?

Tata Motors recently launched the all-new 2025 Altroz premium hatchback in the market. It is, in fact, a special product from the Indian manufacturer as it was their first-ever model in the premium hatchback space. Just like other Tata models, the Altroz is also known for its sturdy build quality, and the same was proven in the Global NCAP crash test too. The current 2025 version of the hatchback is likely to be no different. Tata has now shared a new video where the new facelifted Altroz is seen undergoing a crash test. How did it perform? Watch the video to find out.
The video has been shared by Tata Motors on their YouTube channel. In this video, Tata shows how the Altroz, when it was launched in 2020, changed the premium hatchback segment as it became the first one to score a 5-star rating.
Tata aims to secure a score above and beyond the outgoing model as per the upgraded safety standards. This means the hatchback was probably sent to the Bharat NCAP crash test facility. The official score of the hatchback will be released to the public soon.
The car, as usual, undergoes the front offset deformable barrier test at 64 kmph. The A-pillar remains stable and so does the underbody. The car cabin remains intact while keeping the passengers safe. The airbags deployed on time as well. The Altroz now comes with 6 airbags as standard.
A side mobile barrier crash test at 50 kmph was also conducted, and the car managed to absorb the impact pretty well. In the front offset crash test, the crumple zone absorbed the impact, and the reinforced firewall also ensured that the impact didn’t reach the passenger cabin.
Tata is using Ultra High Strength Steel in the Altroz, and that is helping in the overall sturdiness of the vehicle. In the side pole crash test, the B-pillar and the body panels of the car absorbed the impact well while keeping the passengers safe. The curtain airbags opened on time and also kept the child occupants in the rear seat safe.
Tata has not revealed the score of the hatchback online, but looking at the video, it seems like the Altroz has secured a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP or Bharat NCAP crash test. We wouldn’t be surprised if it manages to achieve a score higher than what it got in the Global NCAP.
The Tata Altroz is currently the only hatchback in the segment which is available with petrol, CNG, and, most importantly, a diesel engine. The Altroz is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which is available with a manual transmission only.
The petrol version uses a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is available with manual, AMT, and DCA gearboxes. There are reports that Tata is planning to launch the Altroz AMT with iCNG in the near future too.
The Altroz is available in Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S variants. Prices for this Hyundai i20-rivalling premium hatchback start at Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and go up to Rs 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
