The Mahindra XUV700, despite being launched back in 2021, still maintains its position as one of the most popular SUVs in India. Over the years, the company has given it various different editions, but a major facelift is due. Thankfully, Mahindra has already started working on the development of the XUV700 facelift, and its test mules have been spotted on numerous occasions, including the most recent one. The new test mule reveals a few key details of this upcoming facelifted model.

This video of the Mahindra XUV700 test mule being tested on the national highway has been shared on Instagram by Kodaivik on their page. The recently spotted test mule was seen on the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra. It was fully covered in camouflage, hiding its minute details. However, a few major updates were visible.

Mahindra XUV700 facelift: Exterior design

First off, let's start with the front end of the upcoming XUV700 facelift. Like most facelifts, Mahindra will be changing the front fascia of this SUV to make it look like a completely new car to the untrained eye. The main highlight will be the brand-new front grille. This time around, it has been made sleeker and will come with six vertical slats aligned in a V shape.

The center space will be taken by the Mahindra Twin Peaks logo. Apart from the grille, another major update will be the new LED headlights. We can note that they are also sleeker now and have two U-shaped chrome elements.

The C-shaped LED DRLs of the current model will most likely be replaced by a connecting LED light bar, which will run horizontally on top of the headlamp.

Moving to the side profile, we can note that this particular test mule looks identical to the current generation model. The same window line, which kinks in the rear, flush-type door handles, integrated roof rails, and overall silhouette are the exact same as the current model. The only update we can expect is 10-spoke 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.

As for the rear, like the side profile, there will not be a whole lot of changes. We can expect a brand-new rear bumper and revised LED taillights with new internals. Apart from this, the same rear spoiler, shark fin antenna, and rear wiper and washer setup can be seen on this test mule.

Interior upgrades

To many, the exterior upgrades might not seem like a big deal over the current model. However, it has to be mentioned that the interior of the upcoming XUV700 facelift will be very radical. It will be getting the XEV 9E-inspired triple screen layout. Each of these screens will be a 12.25-inch unit, and there will be a digital instrument gauge cluster, central touchscreen infotainment system, and a front passenger screen.

To power these screens, the vehicle will most likely get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 processor with 24 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The previous test mule also showed the vehicle with the XEV 9E-like two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Mahindra logo. We can also expect a 16-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system, electronic parking brake, panoramic sunroof, and others.

Powertrain options

Mahindra will most likely not be offering any new drivetrain options with the facelifted model. This means it will still get the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol making 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, and the same 2.2-litre diesel engine with 182 bhp and 420 Nm (manual) and 450 Nm of torque (automatic). The launch is expected to take place around January of 2026.
