The upcoming year 2026 will be filled with amazing car launches from various automakers. Of these, the two highly anticipated models are the Renault Duster and the Tata Sierra ICE. Both of these SUVs will be fighting for the top spot in the mid-size SUV segment. Today, we will give all the information on both of these SUVs that we know so far.

Upcoming Renault Duster vs Tata Sierra ICE: What we know so far

Design and dimensions

First off, let's talk about the design and dimensions of the upcoming 2026 Renault Duster. It is expected to be around 4,365 mm long, 2,069 mm wide, and its height will be around 1,660 mm. As for the wheelbase, it will be around 2,658 mm. Ground clearance will be 212 mm.

As for the design, the new Duster will boast a much more modern design with butch SUV proportions. At the front, it will be getting Y-shaped LED headlights, chunky wheel arches, bold cladding, and short overhangs. Also, there will be 17 and 18-inch alloy wheel options. The rear will also boast Y-shaped LED taillights.

2025 Tata Sierra

In terms of the dimensions of the Sierra, it is expected to be around 4,300 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and its height will be around 1,600 mm. As for the wheelbase, it is expected to be 2,650 mm. Overall, it will be slightly more compact than the Duster.

For many new car buyers, the Tata Sierra might seem like a better-looking car because of its futuristic and modern design. This SUV, at the front, will get split LED headlights with a connecting LED light bar in the middle. It will also get wraparound quarter glass, a floating roof silhouette, flush-type door handles, and LED taillights.

Interior and features

Now, coming to the interior design and features of these two SUVs. The Duster will be offered with a driver-oriented dashboard layout. Its main highlight will be the 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, 6-speaker Arkamys audio system, and automatic climate control.

Other notable features will include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, parking sensors, hands-free key card, walk-away locking, electric ORVMs, wireless charger, USB-C ports, electric parking brake, auto headlights, and rain-sensing wipers. It will also get ADAS Level 2, which will include autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, driver attention alert, and others.

The Tata Sierra ICE, on the other hand, will get a much more premium and futuristic cabin with a triple-connected screen layout. Each screen will measure 12.3 inches, and there will be a digital instrument gauge cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, and a passenger infotainment screen.

Other notable features of the upcoming Sierra ICE will include USB Type-C fast charging, transparent camera, summon mode, panoramic sunroof, two-zone automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, ADAS Level 2, and many others.

Powertrain options

The Duster this time around is expected to get two engines: a 1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which will make 154 PS and 250 Nm of torque and come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. There might also be a mild-hybrid engine capable of producing 131 PS of power and 230 Nm of torque.

As for the Tata Sierra ICE, it is expected to get a 1.5-litre TGDi turbo petrol engine capable of making 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque. Also, there will be the time-tested 2.0-litre KRYOTEC Diesel motor from the Harrier and Safari, which makes 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque.

Launch timeline and expected pricing

The next-generation Renault Duster is expected to go into production this month. As for the launch, it is expected to take place around January of next year. Pricing is expected to be in the range of Rs 12-18 lakh.

Tata Motors, on the other hand, is expected to launch the Sierra ICE later this year or early next year. Pricing-wise, it could be launched in the range of Rs 15-20 lakh.
