Volkswagen India, for a long time, has been coasting on the success of the Taigun mid-size SUV. Over the last few months, Volkswagen has started working on the development of the Taigun facelift, and it is now in the final stages of road testing. Once again, a new video of a Volkswagen Taigun facelift test mule being tested on a highway has been shared online.

First off, let's start with the front-end changes that will be seen on the Taigun facelift. It can be noted that the front LED headlights appear to have been changed and look similar to the recently launched Volkswagen Tera from Brazil. Another new update that can be noted is the front bumper. Apart from these, the front grille will most likely also be new.

Moving to the side profile, the company has not changed anything. This particular test mule was seen with the exact same body lines, window garnish, and roof rails as the current model. It was also seen wearing the same alloy wheels as the current model. However, most likely, the company will launch the facelifted model with a set of new alloy wheels.

As for the rear design, due to the camouflage, not much is visible. However, we can expect the Taigun facelift to get slightly revised rear LED taillights. Its rear bumper will also be changed. Overall, this is not a complete generation change, and the changes on the outside are minimal.

Interior

As per reports, the interior of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift will be receiving a slight upgrade as well. We expect the overall dashboard layout to be the same as the current model. However, it could get a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, and a few other creature comfort features.

Reportedly, the company is also planning to offer ADAS Level 2 as well. The suite of the Volkswagen Taigun facelift’s ADAS Level 2 could include auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and many others.

Powertrain

As for the powertrain, it will likely remain the same, with the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol units. The former produces 115 bhp and 178 Nm of torque, while the latter produces 150 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. It is believed that Volkswagen will be launching the Taigun facelift in early 2026. The exact date has not been revealed as of yet. Expect to see a price bump due to added features.
