5 NEW Kia Cars And SUVs For India: Syros To Seltos Hybrid

Kia India is working diligently on a number of new models. As per the reports, in the coming year, five new models will be launched by the South Korean automotive giant. The first brand-new model to be launched in India by Kia will be the Syros SUV. This new SUV will slot in between the Kia Seltos and the Sonet. It will boast a very unique boxy design, which is a mix of an MPV and SUV design. At the front, it will get a set of vertically stacked LED headlights with vertical LED DRLs.
As for the side profile, the SUV will get a set of unique Y-shaped dual-tone alloy wheels. Like the front, the rear will also get vertical LED taillights with L-shaped extensions. This new SUV will boast a ton of features, including dual connected screens, a panoramic sunroof, ADAS Level 2, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and others.
Powertrain-wise, the upcoming Kia Syros will be offered with three engine options. These will include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel. As for the launch date, it is expected to make its debut early next year.
The upcoming Kia Carens facelift has been spotted testing on multiple occasions in India. This new MPV will boast an updated front-end design with new connected LED DRLs and new LED headlights. It will also get a revised front bumper. As for the side profile, it will remain the same.
Only a new set of alloy wheels along with some chrome accents will be added on the side. At the rear, it will get new C-shaped LED taillights with a connecting light bar in the middle. On the inside, the new Carens MPV will come equipped with an updated dashboard layout, redesigned AC panel, and upgraded seat upholstery.
It will also get Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera. In terms of the engine options, the new Carens facelift is expected to get the same engine options as the current model.
These include a 115 PS naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol, a 160 PS 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and lastly a 116 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. The Carens MPV is expected to make its debut by mid-2025.
Kia will also be launching the EV iteration of the Syros in India. The Syros EV will make its official debut a few months after the launch of the Syros ICE. Reportedly, the Syros EV will be offered with a front axle-mounted electric motor. As for the battery pack, it will get a 35-40 kWh battery pack with a range of 400 km. The details are yet to be confirmed by Kia.
Apart from the Carens facelift, the company is also working on the launch of the Carens EV. A few test mules of this EV MPV have been spied testing on Indian roads. Reportedly, it could be launched early next year. However, the exact dates have not been confirmed yet.
On the outside, the Kia Carens EV will be based on the Carens facelift. This means that the MPV will get a new front and rear-end design. The interior will also be renewed. As for the electric powertrain, the Carens EV will come equipped with a 45 kWh battery pack and offer a range of around 500 km.
Internationally, the new generation of the Kia Seltos, which will now boast a hybrid powertrain, will be launched by mid-2025. However, its India debut will most likely take place in 2026. The new Seltos hybrid will get a Kia Telluride-inspired boxy design and front fascia.
As for its hybrid powertrain, it will come equipped with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, which will be paired with a hybrid setup. In total, it will make around 141 bhp and 265 Nm of torque. The Seltos hybrid will offer mileage in the range of 18.1 to 19.8 kmpl.
