The country's largest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra Automotive, recently launched the all-new XUV700 Ebony Edition in India. This new model has been launched with a price tag of Rs 19.64 lakh. For the same price, there are currently only a few cars in the market in the same three-row, seven-seater segment. However, in the coming period, five new SUVs will be launched. Here are the details of the five new SUVs that will compete with the Mahindra XUV700.

The first new SUV that will be competing with the XUV700 will be the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara seven-seater. This new extended version of the already popular strong hybrid mid-size SUV, the Grand Vitara, will be launched later this year. Recently, a few new spy pictures of this SUV have gone viral on the internet. In terms of design, it will be getting a new two-piece grille.

It will also get a redesigned front bumper, a revised headlamp setup, new alloy wheels, and fresh LED taillights with a connecting LED bar in the middle. As for the interior, it is expected to get a new dashboard layout, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a 360-degree camera. Powertrain options will remain the same, including a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain.

Based on the same platform, Toyota will also be launching its badge-engineered version of the Grand Vitara seven-seater. The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder seven-seater will boast a redesigned exterior but will most likely share the same interior. As for the launch, it will take place around the end of this year.

Renault Duster

Early next year, in 2026, the French automotive giant Renault will be bringing in the seven-seater version of its popular mid-size SUV, the Duster, in India. The five-seater model will be launched in India this year in the second half. Presently, it has been launched in many international markets, and the seven-seater version is called the Bigster.

This new model is based on the CMF-B platform and boasts a very bold design. It gets Y-shaped LED headlights, chunky cladding, and large alloy wheels. As for the features on the inside, it will come with a panoramic sunroof, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, a 10-inch digital instrument gauge cluster, a 10.1-inch infotainment system, and a dual-zone climate control system.

Other features will include an ADAS suite, including autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and lane assist, among others. As for the powertrain, it is expected to get a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It will come paired with a 6-speed manual as well as a CVT gearbox. It could also come with 4X4 capabilities.

Nissan Terrano Seven-Seater

Based on the Renault Duster seven-seater, Nissan will also be launching its very own seven-seater SUV in India. Most likely, the company will be reviving the old Terrano badge in the country. The design will be different on the outside; however, there will be an overall resemblance to the Duster. Most likely, it will also be launched next year.

Skoda Kushaq Seven-Seater

The last Mahindra XUV700 competitor will be the seven-seater version of the already popular mid-size SUV, the Skoda Kushaq. It has been reported that the new model will be based on the MQB A0 37 platform and not the MQB A0 IN platform, which currently underpins a number of Skoda and Volkswagen models.

This new model is expected to lure in more buyers who require a larger family SUV. In terms of design, it could boast similar styling to the current Kushaq. However, it has not been finalized. Reportedly, it will make its debut in 2027.
