The upcoming year of 2025 will be the year of EVs. We say this because a number of new electric cars will be making their debuts. What’s even more interesting is that all of these electric cars will be SUVs, which, as we all know, are currently the rage. So, without wasting any more time, let’s jump directly into the details of EV SUVs coming in 2025.

Hyundai Creta EV

The first electric SUV to be launched next year will be the highly anticipated Hyundai Creta EV. It will be the brand’s third EV offering in India and will be based on the newest-generation Creta. On the outside, it will get a closed-off grille, new alloy wheels, and a few minor changes to differentiate it from the ICE Creta.

It is expected to be launched in January of next year with a starting price tag of Rs 22 lakh. Once launched, it will take on rivals like the Tata Curvv.ev, Maruti e-Vitara, Tata Harrier EV, and BYD Atto 3. Reportedly, it will get a 45 kWh battery pack and offer a range of 450 km. As for power, it will make 138 bhp and 255 Nm of torque.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara

Finally, after waiting for months, Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its first-ever electric vehicle—the e-Vitara. This new EV SUV is based on the Heartect-e skateboard platform and has similar dimensions to the Grand Vitara. This new EV SUV will be making its official debut in India at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo next year.

Following this, the launch will take place around March. The Maruti e-Vitara will come with two battery pack options—49 kWh and 61 kWh. The company has not revealed the information on the range, but it is believed it will be around 450-500 km. As for the design, it looks very similar to the eVX concept. On the inside, it gets an ultra-modern and futuristic-looking premium interior.

Mahindra BE 6E

The next EV SUV to make its debut in India next year is the Mahindra BE 6E electric SUV. This futuristic-looking SUV will be one of the most unique offerings in the Indian EV market. It will get a split-headlight setup, aero-blade-style alloy wheels, and a cockpit-like interior.

The upcoming Mahindra BE 6E will be based on the INGLO platform developed by the brand in-house. As for the powertrain, it will be offered with 60 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack options. The maximum range will be around 450 km on a single full charge. It will be unveiled on November 26th.

Mahindra XEV 9E

Another important EV SUV on Mahindra’s launch roster is the XEV 9E. This SUV will also be based on the same INGLO platform and will boast a coupe-like sloping roofline. It will also get C-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlights, flush-type door handles, and aero-blade-style alloy wheels.

At the moment, the exact powertrain options for the Mahindra XEV 9E have not been revealed. More details on this electric SUV will be released on November 26th at the Mahindra Unlimit Event.

Toyota Urban Electric SUV

As Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Motor Corporation have a long-term strategic partnership, Toyota will also be launching its massive-market EV SUV based on the e-Vitara. It will be a badge-engineered model, which means that it will only get a new exterior and some changes to the interior. The rest of the vehicle will be the same as the Maruti e-Vitara. It is expected to make its debut in the first quarter of 2025.

Tata Harrier EV

Tata Motors is gearing up for the launch of the Harrier EV in India. The company has reached the final stages of development of this electric SUV, and it will debut next year. It is believed that the Harrier EV will be the brand’s first AWD vehicle.

It will be based on the Acti.ev platform and will get a ton of EV-specific design elements on the outside. The company has already showcased a near-production version. It is believed that the Harrier EV will be offered with a battery pack ranging from 60-80 kWh, offering a range of 500 km. The Harrier EV will reportedly be launched in March 2025.

Tata Safari EV

Last but not least, along with the launch of the Harrier EV, Tata Motors will be offering the Safari EV in India as well. Mechanically, it will most likely be identical to the Harrier EV. However, on the outside, it will boast a new EV-specific appearance. It will also be launched around March 2025. Once launched, it will take on the Mahindra XEV 9E and XUV.e8.
