Tata Motors seems to have posted a decline in its passenger vehicles (PV) business revenue during the year ended March 2025. The numbers dropped by 7.5%, and the same can be attributed primarily to the sinking hatch volumes. The homegrown carmaker hopes for a strong comeback with its upcoming launches. Tata Motors plans to launch both ICE (Internal Combustion Engined) and EV ( Electric vehicles) offerings. Here are seven new Tata cars and SUVs that are expected to launch this year....

Tata Altroz Facelift

The facelifted Altroz will go on sale in India on May 22, 2025. The vehicle has already been revealed and will pack a lot of improvements over the outgoing model.

The new Altroz will have a revised design. It will feature better-looking LED headlamps, LED fog lamps which are neatly integrated into the front bumper, flush-type door handles, new alloy wheels, an improved 3D front grille, refined body lines and surfaces, restyled bumpers, and a full-width LED light bar at the rear that connects the LED tail lamp units. The design at large is modern and all the more appealing.

The new Altroz will have major improvements gone into the design and kitting of its cabin. The interior gets new layout, trims and colours. The new Altroz gets a lighter Beige clour scheme which renders a sense of space to it. Expect to find the likes of a large 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree camera, a single-pane sunroof, keyless entry, push-button start, wireless charger, and cruise control on the new car.

There will be no revisions to the powertrain lineup. The new Altroz will come with the familiar 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2L turbo-petrol, CNG powertrain and 1.5L diesel engines.

Harrier.EV

The next big launch from Tata Motors would be the Harrier.EV. It will likely be the first major electric SUV launch from the manufacturer in 2025. The electric SUV was previously showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo this year. Months later, the carmaker showed the production model in action at an event held in their testing facility. The market launch is expected in June this year.

The Harrier.EV will feature a bold design with the likes of a closed-off grille, LED DRLs, split headlamps, futuristic lower bumper design, 19-inch aeroblade-style alloy wheels, connected LED taillamps, and a silver skid plate, as its key highlights.

The all-electric Harrier's cabin will have a dual-tone colourway and will come well-kitted. Features like a 360-degree camera, a new four-spoke steering wheel with illuminated Tata logo, touch-based HVAC controls, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster are to be expected. You'll even get an advanced 'Summon' function on the production-spec. The SUV will also offer Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging.

On the mechanical front, the Harrier EV will boast a dual-motor setup that will likely have an output of 369 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. It will likely be able to do the 0-100 kph sprint in under six seconds! Though the manufacturer has been tight-lipped about the actual capacity, we expect the Harrier.EV to feature a 75–80 kWh battery pack. The setup could deliver a range of over 500 km per charge.

Courtesy of its dual electric motors, gthe Harrier EV will have the all-wheel-drive (AWD) technology- the first Tata SUV to feature this in a long time! The expected price of the Harrier EV is around 30 lakh rupees, ex-showroom. When launched, it will compete with the likes of Mahindra XEV 9e, the upcoming XEV.e8 and the Hyundai Creta Electric.

Tata Sierra EV

2025 Tata Sierra front

The Indian carmaker is preparing to resurrect the legendary 'Sierra' nameplate- in both electric vehicle (EV) and ICE (petrol/diesel) forms. The Sierra EV is expected to launch first, and will be based on the Acti.EV platform. It will, however, have a front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration (unless Tata Motors decides to give us a shocking last-minute surprise!). The underpinnings will likely come from the Harrier.EV. The battery pack and 500+ km range could be carried over. We expect an ex-showroom price of Rs 20–25 lakh for the production spec, when launched.

Sierra Diesel And Petrol

2025 Tata Sierra

Tata will also launch the diesel iteration of the Sierra, which would borrow its underpinnings from the diesel Harrier. The Stellantis-sourced 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine produces 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque on the Harrier, and the same could be used on the diesel Sierra as well. The Internal Combustion Engined (ICE) counterpart is expected to feature significant changes in its exterior and interior styling. The near-production guise was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year.

Tata Motors is also developing a turbocharged petrol engine (TGDi), which will be used in models like the Harrier, Safari and the Sierra. The Sierra Petrol would appeal to buyers who prefer to own a compact petrol SUV (Yes, the Sierra will be a compact SUV!). The 1.5 TGDi petrol engine could produce around 170 hp, and was previously showcased at the Auto Expo 2023.

Harrier Petrol

The new petrol engine will soon find a place on the Harrier as well. We expect the petrol-powered Harrier to launch sometime around July 2025. It could come with minimal design changes from the diesel counterpart.

Safari Petrol

Finally, Tata Motors will introduce the new petrol engine on the flagship Safari as well. The SUV now comes with just the diesel engine. The addition of the petrol powertrain will make the SUV appealing to a larger set of audience.

Curvv CNG

Tata Motors is determined to expand its iCNG range with the addition of Curvv to it. The coupe SUV will soon get the CNG powertrain found on the likes of the Nexon. It could then feature a dual-tank setup for storing CNG, which would avoid compromising usable boot space. A test mule was recently spotted in Pune, pointing at an imminent market launch. On the design front, expect minor changes like new wheels and iCNG badges.

Most of the interior design and features are expected to remain the same as what you find on the ICE Curvv. The powertrain of the CNG version will likely have the familiar 1.2-litre turbocharged unit. The Curvv CNG could launch during the upcoming festive season.
