84 Year-Old Grandpa Kick Starting 55 Year-Old Royal Enfield Bullet Is So Satisfying To Watch [Video]

Royal Enfield is a brand that is equally popular among bikers from India and around the world. As we already know, Royal Enfield is one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in the world that is still in production. One of the popular models from the manufacturer is the Bullet, and it is still in production. We have seen several new and interesting videos featuring this motorcycle in the past, including modification videos and videos related to restoration. However, here we have a video of an 84-year-old grandpa who seems to be fit for his age, starting an old Royal Enfield Bullet 350 motorcycle.
The video has been shared by Rasi Rider on their Instagram page. It initially surfaced on the internet last year in August and has gone viral. The video has already been watched by over 9 lakh viewers and has over 50,000 likes too. We have often heard people say, “Age is just a number,” and it feels apt in this case.
The grandpa seen in the video is 84 years old, and he is seen walking towards a motorcycle. The motorcycle is a 1969 model Royal Enfield Bullet 350. The grandpa walks to the bike and then effortlessly kickstarts the motorcycle.
While the grandpa made things look easy on video, it should be noted that kickstarting a 55-year-old Bullet is not everyone’s cup of tea. In modern motorcycles, starting the bike using the kicker is not a big issue; however, when it comes to the Bullet, there is a certain technique one must follow.
The old cast iron Bullet motorcycles were notorious for the kickbacks. The kickback was so powerful that it could easily damage the rider’s leg. There are even cases where people have injured their hip joints and spine after not following the correct method.
The 84-year-old grandpa, if you notice carefully, released all the pressure from the engine by pressing the decompressor button. While pressing the decompressor button, he brought the kicker down slowly.
Once the pressure was released and the ammeter needle was in the center, the grandpa kickstarted the bike. Starting a motorcycle like this was a process, and the video shows the same.
The motorcycle seen in the image also looks well-maintained with a black and gold dual-tone shade. The motorcycle came with a single-cylinder, 346cc engine that was designed to generate power and torque that were sufficient for city speeds.
This was not a motorcycle designed for higher speeds. Royal Enfield now has a variety of bikes in their lineup. They developed a platform that is now used in bikes like the Meteor 350, Classic 350, and even the new Bullet. Royal Enfield even made some changes to the engine to make it more refined.
Royal Enfield also has several twin-cylinder motorcycles like the Interceptor 650, Shotgun 650, Super Meteor 650, and Continental GT 650. In the future, we expect to see more twin-cylinder motorcycles from the brand.
One of the recent launches from the Chennai-based manufacturer is the Himalayan 452. The motorcycle uses a newly developed engine named Sherpa 452. This is RE’s first liquid-cooled engine, and it generates 40 Bhp and 40 Nm of peak torque.
