Automotive sales have had a dip in the past few months, and unsold inventory is piling up at many dealer yards and brand warehouses. These have forced many manufacturers to roll out hefty discounts and benefits on various models. Interestingly, the actual discounts that can be availed on automotive models can be much higher than what’s being communicated by the manufacturers officially. Let us see a few such deals and discounts…
Tata Nexon
Tata Nexon has lately been enjoying decent discounts. The official discounts on the model amount to 80,000. Additionally, another 25,000 can also be availed. That makes it a total of 1.05 lakh on the ICE version of India’s popular SUV.
Tata Nexon EV
The Nexon EV continues to be the hottest-selling electric vehicle in India. The carmaker had recently announced cuts of up to 3 lakh on this e-SUV. It was previously priced between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 19.29 lakh, ex-showroom. Post revision, the entry price fell to Rs 12.49 lakh. If you can produce an MSME certificate, an additional 57,000 can be saved. That brings it to a total of 3.57 lakh in savings.
Tata Safari
Tata Motors had recently reduced the Safari prices by 1.6 lakh. Additional dealer discounts of up to 50,000 also apply in some areas. Up to 20,000 can also be saved on insurance. Thus, the SUV offers a total savings of 2.3 lakh. On large vehicles like the Safari, it is better to go with third-party insurance from IRDAI-certified providers.
Maruti Jimny
The Jimny hasn’t been doing well in sales in recent times. The manufacturer has announced various accessory packages and attractive discounts on the SUV to keep the numbers live. It can now be had with savings of up to 3 lakh rupees! 2.5 lakh can be had in discounts and another 38,000 can be saved if you opt-out of purchasing an extended warranty. The top-spec Jimny could have cost you 17.58, if not for these fresh deals and discounts. It can now be bought for around 15 lakh.
Maruti Grand Vitara
The top-spec would be the best bet if you are to buy a Grand Vitara. Up to 1.75 lakh can be saved on the range-topping variant. Up to 40,000 can be had as an exchange bonus. What used to cost 23 lakh previously, will now be available for 21.80 lakh. It gets a strong hybrid powertrain that consists of a 1.5L, 3-cylinder petrol engine and an all-electric setup. Known for its high fuel efficiency, this variant enjoys decent acceptance.
Jeep Compass And Meridian
The Compass gets no discounts or benefits on the base-spec Longitude variants. Higher variants of the Compass and select variants of the Meridian can be had with discounts of 3.9 lakh. The Meridian being discussed here would likely be the pre-facelift model. The American manufacturer recently launched the facelifted Meridian in India, at a much cheaper price than before.
Skoda Discounts
Skoda’s present portfolio consists of the Kushaq, Superb, Slavia and the Kodiaq. Up to 90,000 can be saved on some of these models. If you already own a Skoda, a loyalty bonus of 40,000 can be availed. Corporate discounts can also go up to 40,000. An additional dealer discount of 10,000 will make the total savings worth 90,000. If you manage to find a MY23 car, up to 2 lakh could be saved.
Mahidra Scorpio Classic
In the 9-seater S and the top-spec S11 variants, huge savings await you. Up to 70,000 can be saved on the S11 which now sells for 21 lakh. Actual discounts on Scorpio N are subject to availability. The 3-door Thar offers 1.5 lakh in savings ( 1.25 lakh price cut and 25,000 in accessories)
