Maruti Suzuki plans to actively launch new models in the Indian market, in the upcoming years. The planned lineup includes new models and facelifts and significant updates to existing ones. Maruti Suzuki will likely work on expanding its range of buyers across different segments. Here are 5 affordable Maruti Suzuki cars and SUVs which are expected to debut in India in the next 2-3 years. Most of these vehicles will have their starting prices tucked under the 10-lakh mark.

New Maruti Baleno

The outgoing Baleno has aged quite well, and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) is reportedly working on a generational upgrade which will replace it when launched. Currently codenamed YTA, the next-generation Baleno is expected to launch in 2026. The vehicle will feature a revised styling, get more equipment and come with new powertrains.

The outgoing Baleno is powered by the K12N naturally aspirated petrol engine with Dual Jet technology that produces 88.50 bhp and 113 Nm. The new Baleno could make a shift to the new-age 1.2L Z12E petrol engine that sits under the hood of many Maruti Suzuki models today. Reports say that the fuel efficiency could be around 30 kpl. Going by how the engine performs on various Maruti models like the fourth-generation Swift, these claims may not be unrealistically tall.

Maruti Fronx Facelift

The Fronx is essentially a crossover based on the Baleno. It gets more ground clearance, stiffer suspension and a slightly peppier state of tune to the engine. The compact SUV coupe is expected to get a major facelift in 2026 or 2027. The new model will come with major improvements over the outgoing one. Reports suggest that the new Fronx will come with a new strong hybrid petrol engine. This will be a series hybrid powertrain.

The series hybrid powertrain will use the Z12E engine as its base. The series hybrid setup has the engine and the electric motor working side by side. The car can thus be driven in the Pure EV mode, pure Petrol mode or a combination of both. The engine works as a generator to generate electricity for the electric motor to drive the wheels. The series-hybrid powertrains will soon be carried to more Maruti Suzuki models and will excel with fuel efficiency.

Maruti Suzuki Compact MPV & Micro SUV

MSIL will also launch a new compact MPV in the market. It will sit between the Ertiga in the company’s lineup. The key competitor will be Renault Triber. The vehicle will be inspired by the Japanese-spec Suzuki Spacia. It will have a practical design, ample equipment and a cost-effective engine even while being affordable. It will appeal to people who are on the lookout for a cost-effective family vehicle.

This vehicle will also come with the aforementioned hybrid petrol engine. The company is also known to be working on a micro SUV, which is also expected to be out late in 2026. It will compete with the Hyundai Exter and Tata Punch.

Maruti Suzuki will launch its first EV, the e-Vitara electric SUV soon. It will offer two battery choices and have a claimed range of around 500 km per charge. There will be a strong focus on expanding the zero-emission lineup in the upcoming time. An affordable electric hatchback inspired by the previously showcased eWX concept is also to be expected in the future.
