Following much online buzz around it, Maruti Suzuki has officially opened bookings for the upcoming fourth-generation Dzire in India. Customers can now reserve the compact sedan by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. This can be done either through authorized dealerships or via the manufacturer’s official website. The official market launch is set to happen on November 11, 2024.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki, expressed excitement about the new Dzire, highlighting its evolution since 2008 and its success with over 27 lakh customers. He remarked, “With the All-New Dzire, we have crafted something that’s not just the best in its segment but goes beyond conventional expectations.” Banerjee also noted that the updated Dzire combines advanced powertrain options with modern features to offer a distinctive experience.

Dzire 2025: What To Expect?

Even when there is time left for its official debut, the exterior and interior designs of the upcoming Dzire are no secrets. A few leaked images and videos have shown the sedan in detail and have revealed almost every nook and corner of it. It will have a completely new design. With cleaner surfaces and sharper lines, it will look more upmarket than any Dzire has ever.

Key design highlights include angular LED headlamps, sleek DRLs, a large new grille with horizontal slats and new bumpers with Black housings for the circular fog lamps at the front. The side design looks sleek and neatly drawn, and comes with new alloy wheels.

At the rear, the car gets a new set of LED tail lamps with Y-shaped elements inside, a new rear bumper, an edgy tailgate design etc. The tyre size might seem to be too thin for a car of this class. It seems to have been set so for milking out max fuel efficiency even while reducing overall emissions. This could be the most handsome Dzire generation ever made.

On the inside, the cabin gets a clean, new tetra-tone colourway that combines the tasteful use of Black and Beige colours along with Faux wood and Satin Silver trims. The Climate Control switch cluster seems to resemble the one on the fourth-generation Swift.

Features offered include floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Carplay and Android Auto, new 3-spoke multi-functional steering wheels, analogue instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, push-button start, traction control, HUD and a single-pane sunroof. This is the first time that the Dzire gets a sunroof, and it is also the first to do so in its segment.

Under the hood, the new Dzire will have the new 1.2L, Z-series 3-cylinder engine (Z12E) that produces 80 bhp and 112 Nm. The Dzire getting a three-pot mill is a first in the model’s history. There will be manual and AMT automatic transmissions on offer. Maruti Suzuki could also launch a CNG version in the future, featuring a manual transmission alone.

The new petrol engine will be able to deliver optimum performance and high fuel efficiency. The new model is expected to be priced competitively with the starting price to likely be around 6.7 lakh, ex-showroom. It will mainly compete with the Honda Amaze, which is also slated for an update soon.
