BoAT’s Aman Gupta Posts Video Of His Mercedes Benz GLS Splattered With Paint: Vandalism Or Marketing Stunt?
The popular entrepreneur and owner of BoAt Lifestyle, Aman Gupta, recently shared a shocking video. The famous Shark Tank India judge, in his latest video, showed his very own Mercedes Benz GLS luxury SUV worth Rs 1.3 crore completely vandalized by spray paint. Now, although it really looks like someone has vandalized his SUV, many people are questioning if this is a marketing stunt by Boat. So, to clear things up, here is what we think.
Boat co-founder’s car vandalized
Aman Gupta, Co-founder and CMO of BoAt Lifestyle, recently shared this video on X. The video, captioned, “Who the hell did this?” shows his Rs 1.3 crore Mercedes Benz GLS luxury SUV covered in spray paint.
It can be noted that the front left door has been painted with “Deadpool” and the rear left door has been painted with the Deadpool logo. Also, the glasses on both doors have been spray painted with “Crazy enough.” There are additional spray paint splatters on the rest of the car.
Is this vandalism or a marketing stunt?
Now, many netizens in the comment section of Aman Gupta’s post have questioned if it is a marketing stunt or a real case of vandalism. Well, the answer to this is most likely that it is a marketing stunt by BoAt. We can say this because on the 26th of July, that is this Friday, the movie Deadpool & Wolverine will be released.
Most likely, BoAt is one of its partners and will be planning to launch products in collaboration with the franchise. Hence, this marketing stunt has been planned. There is another reason as to why this cannot be a case of vandalism.
This reason is that vandalizing with such graffiti takes time, and as Aman Gupta, like all the other mega-entrepreneurs, stays in a high-security society, it is very unlikely that anyone could have done this to his SUV in the parking lot of his building.
Deadpool & Wolverine
As stated, a number of Deadpool movie franchise fans in India are eagerly waiting for the launch of the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie. This movie will be launched on Friday, the 26th of July. In this movie, Wolverine is recovering from his injuries. During this time, he crosses paths with the popular character Deadpool. Following this, they both team up to defeat a common enemy.
Mercedes Benz GLS
The car which Aman Gupta owns, as mentioned, is a Mercedes Benz GLS luxury SUV. This SUV recently received a facelift in India. It is currently the flagship Mercedes Benz SUV in the country, and it starts at Rs 1.32 crore. It then goes up to Rs 1.37 crore.
It comes available with two powertrain options. The first is a petrol version, which is the GLS 450. It uses a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder engine that generates 381 PS and 500 Nm of peak torque. The diesel version is the GLS 450d, which also uses a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder engine. This engine generates 367 PS and 700 Nm of peak torque.
Both the petrol and diesel versions get a mild hybrid system that offers a 20 PS boost and 200 Nm of additional torque on demand. Both engine options are mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Cred’s incredible marketing stunt
