BYD is offering the Sealion 7 in two variants in India, namely Premium and Performance. It starts at Rs 48.9 lakh ex-showroom.
As mentioned, BYD has launched the Sealion 7 all-electric SUV in two variants, which are Premium and Performance. The former, which is priced at Rs 48.9 lakh, is the rear-wheel-drive version, and the latter is priced at Rs 54.90 lakh and offers an all-wheel-drive configuration.
BYD had already commenced the bookings of this model at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025 for an amount of Rs. 70,000. Deliveries of the BYD Sealion 7 will start from March 7 this year.

Now, let’s talk about the exterior design of the BYD Sealion 7. This new electric SUV boasts a very sleek, fastback-inspired body style. It takes a lot of its overall design inspiration from its sibling, the BYD Seal sedan. At the front, it gets a closed-off grille, sleek LED headlights with C-shaped LED DRLs, and aggressive bumper styling.
Moving on to the side profile, the Sealion 7 gets a set of dual-tone alloy wheels with red brake calipers. The Premium variant offers a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, while the Performance AWD variant offers a set of 20-inch wheels. The SUV also gets flush electronic door handles and a coupe-like sloping roofline.
As for the rear-end design, the Sealion 7’s main highlights include connected wraparound LED taillights. It also gets a roof-mounted spoiler and a second lip-mounted spoiler as well. The rear bumper also looks slightly aggressive with its double-bubble diffuser. This electric SUV is being offered in four exterior colors, namely Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Aurora White, and Shark Grey.
The BYD Sealion 7 also gets a modern and futuristic cabin. The main highlight of this SUV’s interior is the 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which can be rotated to be used in portrait as well as landscape orientation. It also gets a four-spoke steering wheel with controls for audio and ADAS.
Other features of the BYD Sealion 7 include a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless charging pad, and two cup holders. It also gets ventilated front seats, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, and premium leather upholstery.
In terms of safety features, the BYD Sealion 7 comes equipped with features such as 11 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Its suite of ADAS offers adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and an emergency braking system, along with others.
The BYD Sealion 7 is competing directly with a number of other premium electric SUVs in India. The list of its rivals includes the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Volvo EX40, and Volvo C40 Recharge.
