BYD Sealion 7 Sets New Record: 52 High-End EVs Delivered On A Single Day
The Chinese electric automotive giant BYD (Build Your Dreams) recently launched its most expensive EV SUV offering, the Sealion 7, in India. This new EV SUV has already managed to lure in many buyers with its impressive performance and features. Recently, BYD Auto India has announced that because of this SUV, it has achieved a new India Book of Record. BYD stated that its dealership, EVM BYD Kochi, has received the record for delivering the highest number of premium EVs (52 of them) in a single day. A massive event was organised for the delivery of these Sealion 7s.
BYD Sealion 7 mega delivery event
The pictures showing the vibrant and exciting event in which numerous BYD Sealion 7 SUVs were delivered have been shared on Instagram by BYD India on their official page. In the images, we can note a number of different colored BYD Sealion 7s parked next to each other. The other images show the event in which the India Book of Records officials were handing over the record to the EVM BYD Kochi officials.
As mentioned, the EVM BYD Kochi has received the record for delivering the highest number of premium EVs in India. The exact number of deliveries done by the dealership stands at 52. The images of this mega delivery event show that the dealership had arranged traditional drummers, professional dancers, a violinist, and a massive show. Following this, other images show the handover of keys to the respective owners.
BYD Sealion 7 has scored 5-star safety rating
The BYD Sealion 7, at the time of launch, did not mention its safety rating. However, recently it was announced that this electric SUV has managed to score an impressive 5-star safety rating in the Euro NCAP test. It scored 87 percent in the adult occupant protection tests. It also scored an impressive 93 percent in the child occupant protection tests.
Lastly, in the pedestrian and cyclist safety tests, the BYD Sealion 7 scored 76 percent. Euro NCAP, which is one of the most stringent crash testing organisations, added that there is room for improvement in the Autonomous Emergency Braking system of the vehicle. In terms of safety features, the Sealion 7 comes loaded with 11 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
It also gets Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), which include features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and an emergency braking system, along with others. Apart from safety features, the Sealion 7 is also a feature-loaded SUV. It comes with a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which can be rotated to be used in portrait as well as landscape orientation.
BYD Sealion 7 also gets a four-spoke steering wheel with controls for audio, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a wireless charging pad, and two cup holders. Other features include an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a panoramic sunroof, and premium leather upholstery.
Powertrain options
BYD offers the Sealion 7 in two variants. The lower variant gets a single electric motor offering a maximum power of 308 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the Performance variant gets a dual-motor setup that provides a whopping 523 bhp and 690 Nm of torque. The battery pack is the same in both variants, and it is a massive 82.56 kWh, which offers ranges of 567 km and 542 km, respectively. The lower variant is priced at Rs 48.9 lakh, and the Performance variant is priced at Rs 54.9 lakh.
