Citroen Aircross X Bookings Open - AI Assistant, Cruise Control, 360 Camera Included

Citroen has opened bookings for the updated Aircross X, with a token amount of ₹11,000. The model will soon reach dealerships and follows the brand’s recent approach of introducing “X” editions across its range, such as the C3 X and Basalt X.
The Aircross X introduces small but noticeable changes to differentiate it from the outgoing version. A new dark green paint shade has been added to the palette, and an “X” badge on the tailgate marks the update. Beyond this, the exterior retains the familiar design and proportions that already give the crossover its distinct look.
Inside, the cabin gets useful upgrades. Push-button start-stop is now standard, while white ambient lighting enhances the feel of the cabin. The dashboard has been finished with leatherette wrapping to improve perceived quality without pushing costs significantly higher.
Buyers of the original Aircross had consistently highlighted the lack of cruise control, and Citroen has addressed this with the X. The update also brings Citroen’s Cara AI assistant, which can respond to voice commands, run vehicle diagnostics, and optimise navigation.
Another addition is an optional 360-degree camera, priced around ₹25,000. This feature improves convenience, particularly in tight city spaces where parking has been a concern. Together, these changes bring the Aircross closer to what rivals already offer in terms of everyday usability.
Mechanically, the Aircross X stays unchanged. The base versions continue with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 82 hp, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Higher trims retain the 110 hp turbocharged petrol motor, offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed torque converter automatic.
Citroen’s decision to leave the powertrain untouched ensures continuity in servicing and parts, reassuring both new and existing customers. The company continues to highlight the comfort-focused suspension setup, which remains one of the car’s key differentiators in a segment crowded with sharper-handling rivals.
The original Aircross was seen as falling short on features compared to established competitors. The X addresses this by adding technology and convenience items that were missing, while keeping the car’s value-oriented positioning intact. Instead of altering styling or reworking the mechanicals, Citroen has focused on feedback-driven improvements.
This approach fits with the brand’s wider “X” strategy — offering meaningful updates that are quicker and more cost-efficient than full-scale facelifts. It also allows the company to adjust products in line with what buyers have asked for, rather than introducing headline-grabbing but less practical changes.
Compact crossovers remain one of the most competitive spaces in the Indian market, with constant updates from rivals. Citroen’s measured strategy with the Aircross X keeps it relevant by improving cabin quality, adding requested features, and introducing convenience tech at an accessible price point.
Bookings are already underway across Citroen dealerships, with deliveries expected to begin shortly. By addressing earlier criticisms and refining the product where it matters, the Aircross X gives Citroen a stronger chance of standing out in a busy segment.
